Shane Whalen
This Prayer Circle is Dedicated to my son Shane Whalen Who Passed Away On March 15, 1999 at the Age of 24, & All Other Children

Start a prayer circle for bereaved parents who have lost a child.

There are many of us out there who have lost a child, and it is devastating. It changes the outlook on life, plunges you into a depression, and you think that the feelings and thoughts you have nobody else could possibly relate to. I think a prayer circle for bereaved parents would only benefit us and help us on our journey of grief. This Circle is one of Love, where a Grieving Parent can safely come to for Prayers, and to talk about their feelings.

Hello to all my dear, loving sisters of the Heart

I've just read all of your beautiful, loving Post's today, I'm typing through my tears, but not one's of sadness, one's of such love and profound gratitude to you all. You've all put your heartprints in my own, your oh so comforting words and prayers have touched my heart and soul more than you'll ever know. All of you helped make what was a difficult, sad day one easier to bear. You're all amazing, wonderful women, Mothers, and I'm truly blessed to know you, I thank God for each and everyone of you. We're all drawn together by the unspeakable grief over losing a precious child, but in that, there is so much love here at this Circle. I feel it everytime I come here. I've said before that God's Hand is in this Circle and I truly believe that.
My dear Ang, I'm deeply grateful to you for giving me the day off, and your own beautiful prayers and love not only to me, but to everyone, show's what a special person you are!
To all of you who sent such beautiful Card's, e-mails, thank you from the bottom of my heart, they meant so much to me today!
Our Donna with the BEAR HUGS called me today, we were at Church when she called, but she left her usual loving, thoughtful message on our machine.
To Wendy, (our Beliefnet Editor that look's after this Circle among other duties), you're such a sweetheart, much gratitude to you and Beliefnet for your loving e-mail filled with kindness, thoughtfulness and your prayers for me!
Thank you dear Wendy for your ongoing support, and thank you Beliefnet for honoring this Circle the way you do, it speak's volumes about the wonderful staff that make up this site!

To my dearly loved son, my Shaner McDaner, my love, our love, is forever eternal for you, I miss you so, so much, and you're still my hero and the wind beneath my wings.

Father, I thank you for the many, many blessings in my life, known and unknown, I thank You for being there when I never thought I would make it, I thank You for the most two beautiful gift's in my life, my two boy's, and I thank You that one day we will be reunited, with great love for You and Your Son, Our Lord and Saviour. Please help all these hurting Mom's here at this Circle, You alone know how deep their pain is, let them rest in Your most loving arms, and carry them too on the day's that they don't feel they can make it, give them Your strength to get through each day, and Your peace when their pain takes their breath away, please bless them all and their families, thank You Father, through Your most precious Son's name.
Much love, prayers & Hugs to all,

My Dear Sister, Angela, ~ Whew! :) I cannot find the words to express how very much I appreciate all the love, compassion and prayers you have given so graciously to all angel moms/dads who post here, and for filling in and giving a helping hand while our Dear Chief Angel Mom took a much needed and well deserved break to spend some special time with her beloved son, Shane, on his 5th anniversary in God's kingdom! I also, thank you, through tears, for being there for me, and understanding, and for praying me through this dark time. I want you to know that you are an angel in disguise. :) In the words of one of my favorite poems ... "I wonder where you've hidden your wings. :) I want you to know that your prayers, and the prayers of all my dear devoted angel moms/dads have lifted my spirits and a manner described in God's Holy Word; which reads: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount on wings like eagles. They shall run and not grow weary. They shall walk and not be faint. [Isaiah 40:31.]

Oh, merciful Father, ~ Thank you for sending Angela into our lives! She in, in every sense of the word, an answer to our prayers! Father, you know that so often, many of our friends and sometimes, even family members, don't offer the overt support we angel moms sometime long for. Lord, we know they don't understand how much we need to talk about our children who have gone on before us. Sometimes months, and even years pass, Lord, and they never mention our child's name. Lord, our Angela has done an excellent job of filling that painful void that so many angel moms & angel dads have had to live with on a daily basis. And, for that, I thank you! Please, Father, I ask that you continue to bless our dear angel friend, Angela, in each and every way that you know she needs. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Hi Everyone! :) Please forgive the mistakes in the above post. I am trying to get in a post or two before I have to go take my little niece, to school. :) She is only 5 years old, and, thankfully, does not understand all that's going on with her mom. She reminds me so much of my Diane, and I discovered last night that she has been blessed with the voice of an angel. :) As I was helping her with homework, [Not an easy thing to do when the five year old wants to be the teacher ALL THE TIME!]Ha-ha! Once she gave me permission ... I sang a cute little song [I used with my kindergarten students years ago] as I demonstrated how to write the number 5 correctly. Well, ... She smiled, & very quickly snatched my pencil, and said, "Now, watch carefully!" Then, as she wrote the # 5 correctly ... She sang [on key]: :)

"Down, around, and a hat on top,
Down, around, and a hot on top,
Down, around, and a hat on top,
I made the number 5!" :)

Of course I gave her a (((((Biggggg Hug))))), and a standing ovation!!!! :)

Remembering my Diane surprising us by singing "In The Garden" at her kindergarten graduation ... [on key] with everyone [family/close friends/her daddy] ... looking at me [afterwards] as if to say, "Why didn't you tell us Diane could sing like that?" Ha-ha! What they didn't know was ... It surprised me, too! Ah ... The fond memories!

Little Miss Ashley doesn't know it yet, but she is about to learn the words to In The Garden! :) Just in time for Easter! :)

I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses ...

Gotta go Y'all!
Miss V.

ps: See what prayer can do? :)

3/16/2004 13:49

Ah Miss V, that's so cute, :-) Little Ashley is showing her dear Aunt a thing or too, :-)! I love being around my little neice too, Selena is 4 and is a budding prima donna - everytime my sister turn's around she's changed her clothes and put's on a dress to play outside, and then ensue's a 'battle of will's. She get's on the phone with me and we have the most hilarious conversation's, "want to come to McDonald's with me Aunt Sandy? "I'd love to sweetie, are you going to buy me lunch?" "No, but my Mommy will", ha, ha! She's a joy to be around, they're so cute at that age! She sang me a song yesterday on the phone, it was so sweet to hear her singing it, she's in love with Barney at the moment, so the song was from one of his video's, :-). Love her dearly!
Much love & Angel Hugs,

3/16/2004 13:58

Oh my gosh, dear Deb, are you over the shock by now, :-). TWINS!! You were so excited to find out you're pregnant, you must be overjoyed now to find out there's not just one on the way, but TWO!! What a blessing, do twins run in either side of the family? Or are you the trendsetter, :-). What a big surprise, I'm so happy for you, your hubby and Chris - he's going to be big brother to two now! And i know your precious Michael is smiling ear to ear,
Much love & Teddy Bear hugs,

3/16/2004 14:35

Hi our dear Sharon Lee! It's great to see a Post from you, we hadn't heard from you in a while! You betcha God and your Angels were with you, from the description of the accident, it could have been far worse. I'm not minimizing it by any means dear one, it's traumatic to even go through an accident, thank God the girl's weren't injured more severely as well as yourself, and I'm SO sorry to hear that it brought your MS out of remission after 7 years! I truly pray that it goes back into remission for you, God love you, hopefully it's just a temporary relapse from the shock of the accident. Yes, some Dad's grieve so differently from us Mom's. Sadly they've been conditioned to hold their feelings in, and try to be the strong one's for the family. Also sadly, there's a higher incidence of divorce with Parent's who've lost a child. My own hubby and I went through that during the first few month's after Shane passed, he was holding all his grief in, and then one day he had a 'meltdown', those feeling's had to come out, and thankfully they did, then we could lean on each other for support. So I'm happy for you and your hubby that thing's worked out, and your marriage and family is stronger than ever - the great power of love! Hope you're feeling better very soon, as well as the girl's, let us know how you're doing,
Much love & Angel Hugs,

3/16/2004 14:45

Our dear Susan, I hope you've finally recovered from your bout of sickness, I had to laugh a little when I was reading your Post, your hubby was determined NOT to get it, :-) Reminded me of a BioHazard Zone, yes, just like the Movie, :-). I hope you're up and around now, and you're experiencing some peaceful moments in your grief over your beloved Alex. Please let us know too how you're doing, you know we all care,
Much love & Angel Hugs,

3/16/2004 15:02

Oh dear Marci, I didn't know that yesterday was Sean Michael's 7th month Anniversary of his Funeral! No wonder you didn't get any sleep, you're in deep pain yourself, I know you miss your beloved Sean Michael so much, sometime's it's even hard to put into word's how we're feeling, it's so intense. You have as many meltdown's as you want, this is the hardest storm to ever experience! Love IS eternal, it never die's, the great love bond that you and Sean Michael share is still there and always will be, in some way's it's even stronger now. My love and prayers are always with you and everyone else, your Sean Michael is still there for you, but I know it doesn't make up in any way for the loss of him being physically still in your life, this is SO hard, isn't it.
Much love & Tender Hugs,

3/16/2004 15:07

My dear sister Selva, I pray too that today is a better one for you, I know yesterday was very hard for you too, every 15th of the month is another difficult day for you to get through, I also hope you're not overdoing it at work and you're not suffering from too much physical pain, love you my sister,
Lots of Tender Hugs,
