Racist Family A
For My Parents and Sisters

I have grown up all my life with racism and I am expected by my family to belive in this way.I am from a white family and a small community with very little diversity. Until I moved out I never really knew anyone from a different race than my own.

My best friend is Hispanic and I have quite a few other friends that are as well. My family didn't have a major problem with this. The problem came in when I fell in love with a Hispanic man. Since we have been together my family rarely speaks to me, refuses to even meet him, and basically states that if I choose him I will lose my family. This is a very hard thing for me to think about because I have chosen to spend the rest of my life with him. Please pray for God to show my family that they are being irrational. Show them that God created this world as a great big mixing pot of diversity. I have never understood how anyone can judge someone by the color of thier skin or anything else for that matter. I did not choose to be white...God chose that for me. Dan did not choose to be hispanic...God chose that for him. People choose to be ignorant when it comes to racism. Please pray for God to teach my family to accept my decisions and to love me no matter what those decisions are.

I GREW UP IN A VERY RACIST FAMILY. I AM THANKFUL TO MY HIGHER POWER THAT SOMEHOW I LEARNED THAT PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE AND NOT TO JUDGE THEM BASED ON THEIR RACE.I AM IN A BI-RACIAL RELATIONSHIP AND HAVEN'T TOLD MY FAMILY YET FOR FEAR THAT THEY WILL DISOWN ME.I PRAY THAT THE HIGHER POWER WILL SEE FIT TO SHOW YOUR FAMILY AND MINE, AND EVERYONE WHO HATES BASED ON RACE,THAT WE ARE MEMBERS OF ONE RACE--THE HUMAN RACE.
HATE IS A SIGN OF IGNORANCE.

I pray that your family can see the person they are on the inside rather than on the outside. I pray that they accept Dan and your relationship with him. And I pray that your relationship with your family will strengthen. Shalom and G~d bless.

Butterfly, I can relate. I've never been in love, so it must be much worse for you. I'm very attracted to black guys and I'm white. My mom is so close-minded, and so are a lot of my friends. I keep trying to tell them that it's what's inside that counts, not the color of one's skin. I meditate every night, and most night's I have a conversation with God. Tonight I need to talk with Him anyway, and I'll ask Him to watch over you carefully. I'll ask Him to send your family a muse to inspire them to open their minds. I know He'll work miracles for you like He does for me. Just have faith. "Merry meet an merry part - bright the cheeks an warm the heart."

I PRAY THE LORD WILL SOFTEN YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS' HEARTS. ALSO SOME ADVISE TO YOU, IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS RELATIONSHIP ,LIKE TALKING ABOUT MARRIAGE, I HOPE THAT BOTH OF YOU ARE SAVED. I HOPE BOTH OF YOU KNOW AND LOVE GOD BECAUSE W/O HIM, YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A STRUGGLE ANYWAY. THROUGH HIM ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! I HAD TO FIND THAT OUT THE HARD WAY.

Lord, please forgive those who can't see the wrong and the pain they may cause in others lives. Let us learn from that and try to be better people because of them. In Jesus name I pray. God Bless you and Dan.

Dearest Lord,
Please allow the family to realize that love sees no colors, but what is within. Please let them realize that all people are created and taken equally.
In your son's name we pray,
Amen

If u love him fight for it... color or religion doesn't make u better or worst... it makes u who u r, that's the neauty of it... i come from an interfaith family, half jewish, half catholic and i know how hard it is to be tolerated... now i'm a grown woman and i am in a mixed relationship... i am jewish and he is chinese... i couldn'tve picked a better man, he loves me, protects me and is there when i need him...if ur man does the same to u, does it really matter ur family's acceptance? ur dealin with years and years of racism, and they're not gonna change... racism is like a virus, it goes deep inside u, infecting every inch of ur being... its sad, but u must be strong and move on...u will not stop lovin ur family, and shall not... but u must try to have the best of both worlds...who knows maybe in time they will realize their mistake...or maybe not... my prayer goes basically to u and ur man... for him to bless u both and guide u ...

Dear everlasting God, please light the way for this family to see that their views about this man are wrong. Let them judge him not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character. Bless this couple with the courage to stand up for what is right. In God's holy name, AMEN.

May butterfly's family come to see with eyes unclouded; may they see the love that Dan has to offer her and them, and may they accept it. May all people who are in such difficult relationships find true happiness and peace, and their children and grandchildren, should they be so blessed. Mother of All, please show us that we are all your children and that we are all precious to you, no matter what we call you.

Butterfly, don't give up! We're rootin' for you!

Let me clarify that "Hispanic" is not a race, it is a cultural designation. "Hispanic" means that you have a connection to any of the countries where Spanish is spoken. Be aware that Hispanics come in all races: white, black, yellow, red. As to your folks tell them to jump in the lake. I assume that you are in one of the Americas (North, Central, South, plus the Caribbean area). If you are remind your folks that in 1492 Queen Isabella of Spain (a Hispanic)was the one who sent Christopher Columbus westward and of course he ended up landing in the Bahamas.
"Que Dios bendiga a todos los hispanos del mundo", (which means) "May God bless all the Hispanics of the world".

Orisha

Do you know who is the most famous Hispanic in the history of the world? Are you ready for a shock?... It's Walt Disney. He was born in Spain with the name Jose Luis Girao. His parents came with him to the US when he was a baby. His parents died in a car accident and little Jose Luis was placed for adoption. Eventually he was adopted by the Disney family of Chicago, Illinois. If you want to have some fun tell your parents that they many of their friends may be Hispanics who just don't talk about it. Have fun.

I offer a prayer that your family may become less judgemental and more tolerant of all people on this Earth. I pray that they may see the beauty in all creatures. I pray that the sickness of racism does not spread futher. I pray for your friend, that he may not encounter such a situation again. And I pray for you, that you may be blessed for being accepting of others.
