CHEMICAL ADDICTION
FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY CHEMICAL ADDICTION

This circle is for the addicted person, and also for those affected by the addiction of others.

Having suffered from multiple chemical addiction for about 25 years and now living a solid, clean and sober life for 3-plus years, I have devoted a portion of my life to service; helping those suffering from addiction online and at 2 treatment facilities speaking before newcomers to recovery. Additionally, online I offer prayer and consolation when requested.

Beneficent Father, please bestow understanding, patience and courage to those suffering so they may face everyday challenges. By the Passion of the Most Sacred Heart of Lord Jesus Christ, the Infinite Healer, please reach out to those suffering and comfort them in their time of need. Despise not this petition and hear their prayer, and deliver them to the confidence of Your Holy Grace. Be the shepherd in their life as you have guided me, and reassure them to a level of hope in You.
-Amen.

Almighty Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, you sent your Son to be born of woman and to die on a cross, so that through obedience for one man, estrangement might be dissolved for all men. Dear Lord, I pray for my friend of 4yrs. with hopes that he will reach out to you once more with his seemingly never ending battle with chemical dependancy. I can no longer be there for him even though I love him as my husband and soulmate. I have to survive myself mentally for myself and for my children. Lord, Please help him!!!!! He has tried so hard and everytime gets worse. Lord thank you for sheltering me these last few day for without you I wouldn't have been able to make it through this time. In Jesus's name I pray, Amen.

For Trisha: I regret reading about your setback and hopefully by now you are back on track. After 3 years you have acquired the necessary skills to abstain and the network necessary to maintain "quality time". All the research has been done. This disease is cunning and sneaks up behind us when we least expect it. It is important to watch ourselves and the "signs" which only we know that lead us into temptation. For more years than I wish to count, I reasoned with myself about my own feelings, and never truly addressed myself. Personally I cannot afford the spiritual, emotional, physical and mental bankruptcy that leads to the self-destruct mode; I would rather die literally than face this challenge. Please don't let yourself fall.

For Cindy: I empathize with your predicament, and unfortunately it seems that you are faced with the bottom 2 alternatives, which I am sure you are aware. Since there are children involved, you must be diligent of the consequences and do what is best for them, because they are the ones who suffer the most and eventually will be affected by the dysfunction of your home. This is what they are learning and will grow up to demonstrate at some level of behavior IF you do not move in a more positive direction. Unfortunately it took a number of years for me to ride the current and eventually alienate my entire family and the only peers I had were those who I practiced my dependency with. No doubt this was the beginning of the true bottom. I experienced different levels of bottom, but the true bottom only I could recognize, and it was quite dark and lonely.

God of Infinite Wisdom, only You know the pain and dispair that is affecting the lives of these individuals. Through this prayer, grant them the hope to trust in You to guide them to the inner peace for positive decision-making that will effect change. Grant to them the strength to persevere and the spirituality to believe that through You a positive end result will evolve through their decisions. Watch over the children and keep them close to your Loving Heart. Through the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Good Shepherd who said, I know my sheep and my sheep know me, please hear and bless this prayer.
-Amen

Heavenly Father, only You know what the true content of our heart is. In the name of Jesus, Your Loving Son, please lead us to do things which bring Glory to Your name, and remove selfish inclinations to accomplish deeds which serve others and reflect the true love You possess for each of us as Your children.
~Amen~

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference...

Cruzin817: About the only thing we have control over is our own emotions, thoughts and feelings...through our own actions we can either help OR hinder another's reactions. Chemical addiction is a disease which adversely affects all those involved, and the practicing addict is the last person to know or understand the damage he/she is causing to those who live around him and profess their love. I am not insisting you to take my advice however, you must seek the help of a support group for yourself and your family to get relief in addition to your prayers and petitions. Unfortunately this disease ruins families and places their emotional and mental levels in harm's way and eventually will shatter your lives. Children witnessing this become victims only to become users and abusers themselves.

Heavenly Father, through the effort of this prayer circle I pray that you will guide Cruzin817 to the necessary resources to get her life and that of her family back on track. Please lead her husband to the necessary help he so needs to avoid ruining his family. Grant to them Your Peace and ultimate serenity to exist in a normal environment. Through the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Your loving Son, please hear and bless this prayer. Amen

Gods grace is ever present in our lives. I pray for the healing of a good friend from their addiction as I have prayed before and saw the power of Grace in someones life. Healing of addiction touches many lives around those who are fighting this disease,..not just the person addicted,..let light open these individuals hearts to restore them to right thinking so they may find their divine peace. Let love open their hearts to banish the fear and negativity.

FOR THE (Confidential) MOM WHO'S SON IS TEARING HER HEART APART & DESTROYING HIMSELF, I MAKE THIS OFFERING...

Heavenly Father, You only begotten Son gave His life for us as a symbol of true love. Through this sacrifice we who believe in You have been afforded Your Grace and His love. Unfortunately some of us are less fortunate in recognizing the gifts you bestow upon us in our day to day living conditions and turn to chemicals as the answer. My specific prayer for M******** and her son is that you bring forth Your love, truth and most importantly hope for a brighter future through faith in You. Grant to her the serenity and the gift of peace to deal with his abuse and lead him to a point where he sees You as a solution and a beacon of hope instead of the life he has chosen. Take him to new levels of understanding so that he may be spared of self-destruction and in gratitude do things to Glorify Your Holy Name. By the merits of the Immaculate Heart of Ever Blessed Mary and the Passion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, my Savior and Redeemer, please hear and bless this prayer.
~Amen

Father, with your gracious mercy and forgiveness, please hear my prayer, as you hear other's prayers more worthy than mine.....Please save me from myself. I cannot seem to find the motivation and the drive that presses most people forward..I am an addict and have become someone I despise. Your forgiveness has been abundant and it's only by your grace alone that I am sitting hear today. Thank you Father for so many blessings. I have acquired the best friendships thru this beautiful 12-step program. Bless them, Lord......And help me not just to overcome my disease of addiction, but to change all the behaviors that got me here. Thank you for hearing these prayers. In Jesus name, Amen

WELCOME!!!!!! (sickntired)
As you are aware, there are no strangers among us...but for the Grace of God, we learn to live with our disease 1 day at a time. It is only through understanding that we come to terms with this disease (life on life's terms), and by regular attendance at meetings acceptance, another Heavenly Grace is granted... just by the mere fact that you admit that you have a disease is a blessing in itself!! People who have other forms of illness deal with the situation accordingly (in order to stay alive) and by daily admittance of the disease to yourself should focus your thought patterns into manageability. I reflect daily (at some point and time) the bottom I faced when I truly admitted to myself that I was destined to die because of the lifestyle I willingly chose to live. Having succumbed to a gun shot injury, a stabbing wound and other sordid situations that only addicts and alcoholics get themselves into, the handwriting was clearly on the wall, and today (3-plus years later) I still look into the same face of death should I decide to pick up that first drink. (My understanding of progressiveness tells me that I will at some point begin acting like I did when I stopped drinking, and this would happen at some undetermined point-be it 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months. Where I left off I don't ever have to see again, just by working the steps 1 day at a time!) So simple a concept for complicated people! On the other side of the coin, all the promises which have been made to you if you stick with recovery, and you follow your faith, will be rewarded to you. But it takes work to get anything worth having (be it material, spiritual, mental or otherwise) and this is done 1 day at a time. God spared you in order for you to get yourself pointed back on the right track. Not everyone is as fortunate as you, so once again, you have received another grace! You have done some of the footwork by becoming active in a 12-step program. Now you have to follow through. What you NOW become will be your gift back to the Heavenly Father. You need not set your goals too high (unrealistic expectations), because this is a set up for a fall. If you don't have 1, find a sponsor! Easy does it but do it is what they told me.

Heavenly Father, once again you have spared another soul from the dark pit of chemical addiction and led them to the Good Shepherd, Your loving Son Jesus, AND to a 12-step program to learn about this disease. By the effort of this prayer and this prayer circle, grant to this person Your continued Grace to seek and to live with You and learn how to live with this disease, to understand Your Will, to gain the self-confidence that only You give, the motivation and determination to move forward, 1 day at a time. Deliver them to the path which shines Your light of truth and acceptance of the things we cannot change, in order to better glorify Your Holy Name. Please bless this prayer in the name of Your Loving Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior who died, so WE could live.
-Amen

1 final thought: ALL OF THE RESEARCH HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. Everything that was written by the originators of the first 12-step program was clearly documented in a text and here it is, all these years later, and nothing has really changed. Insanity is still the same thing it was then...doing the same thing and expecting different results!

God Bless You, sickntired, and hang in there!

THE POWER OF PRAYER

Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now Lord, show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace & mercy. Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed confidence in your ability to work through them. Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, patience, & strength as they learn submission to Your leading. Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage. Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friend's life. Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it.

I ask You to do these things in Jesus' name.

In Christian love,
Your Friend in Jesus,

God, please help the troubled, the suffering, the hungry, and the heartbroken. Ease the minds of those who feel as if there's no way to break free from despair and dejection. Touch their hearts with a renewed enthusiasm for life. Inspire those who have failed to try again. Take the suffering into Your warm hands and infuse their body and soul with strength and courage. Cast Your light upon all the children of the earth and put comfort where there's pain, peace where there's worry, joy where there's sorrow, light where there's darkness. Let all who tread the earth know the healing power of Your love.

In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

My Prayer For You All:

May God's love gently wash over your soul, and make calm your every fear. May God hold you in the palm of His hand, and always keep you so near. May you find great strength in God's love, for today's journey, and each following day. May your faith in the power of prayer remain, giving to you hope, as you find your way. May you find comfort in God's son Jesus, and the loving gift of Salvation He brings. May you always hear the word of the Lord, and your life enriched with many blessings. May Jesus forever command God's Angels, to watch over you in everything that you do. May Angels shelter you during life's storms, and shine a light to show the way through. May life always be gentle and kind to you, and filled with much happiness and love. May you continually feel the gifts and joys, that are given to you, from Heaven above.

Please pray for my son Jay, who is suffering with chemical addiction. He is 26 and is currently living with me. He has stolen from me, well all the things that addicts do. I attend Al-Alon, but really don't know what to do anymore. I feel guilty asking him to move, but can't stand to see him slowly kill himself. Please pray for his healing and also for knowledge on my part to know what to do. I pray and real my lit., but sometimes wonder if God is listening. I know in my heart he is, but I don't think I am listening with a whole heart. Please pray that I can be still and hear his words and to keep the faith.

Thank you

Father, Please lighten the pain of each of your children who are here asking in faith that You will have mercy on us. Guide us to be alert for Your direction and follow Your plan for us rather than our own.
And when we stumble, Father, let us realize that we are human and there is no need to beat ourselves with guilt and shame. For there is but one perfect, that being Jesus Christ.
Walk with us, dear Lord, and keep us in Thy embrase.
In Jesus name, Amen
