Shane Whalen
This Prayer Circle is Dedicated to my son Shane Whalen Who Passed Away On March 15, 1999 at the Age of 24, & All Other Children

Start a prayer circle for bereaved parents who have lost a child.

There are many of us out there who have lost a child, and it is devastating. It changes the outlook on life, plunges you into a depression, and you think that the feelings and thoughts you have nobody else could possibly relate to. I think a prayer circle for bereaved parents would only benefit us and help us on our journey of grief. This Circle is one of Love, where a Grieving Parent can safely come to for Prayers, and to talk about their feelings.

Hi dear Deb, oh, I'm sorry, for some reason I thought the 12th was tomorrow! I'm a day ahead of myself :) Ah, that was so sweet of you to pray for all of us at Church today, thank you dear Angel Mom, that's a very loving thing to do and I appreciate it! Hmm, you prayed for something special? Alright, if something 'special' happens I will definitely let you know!! That's right, I forgot that you were going to visit your parents, can't remember when though, :) Still, that's terrific that your shopping is practically done. And the same goes for Tuesday, I'll be lighting a candle for Michael. Deb, we've known each other for a couple of years now, so please call me Sandy, you don't have to call me by my username anymore, :) Love ya my friend,
Love & Hugs,

Hi Dear Angel Moms,
I still don't have internet service at the new office yet. Hopefully by Tuesday at the latest. I don't check email at home everyday because after I am on the computer all day at work I just don't think about getting on at home. Today is my sister-in-laws Birthday and tomorrow is mine. We celebrated together today at her house with family. It was very nice but I couldn't help feeling sad about Aaron being the only one not there once again. Since tomorrow is my real birthday I think I will go and visit him at the cemetery. I haven't been out there for about 2 weeks and I really miss it. It is just so DA-- hot! I can hardly stand to even walk outside. It went up to 104 yesterday.
Deb, I will wish Michael a Happy Birthday on Tuesday too. Please know that I will be praying for both you and Selva later in the week. Deb, Thursday is Michael's anniv., can I ask how many years? Selva, I know it will be one for Solange. Aaron is close behind her...end of September and I am already dreading it. I STILL can't seem to accept it. I have been having a really really hard time lately. Seems like everything in my life is going crazy at once. Christopher wrecked his car Friday morning and we had to have the wrecker service tow it to a body shop. Don't know how much that will cost yet?? I think it really scared him. He was pretty upset with himself. He also got a ticket. I am just SO THANKFUL that he was not hurt. The other truck was parked in the right lane of the road and he went to go around a slow moving van and ran right into the back of it. There was no one in it, thank goodness. It didnt' do hardly any damage to the truck at all, but Christopher's car is pretty messed up. We are going to register him for college in the morning, and he has been working at my work part time. He is just helping us get everything settled and in place from the move. Well, ladies I need to go for now, but wanted to let you all know that I am alive and miss so much not having the time to post and read as often as I would like. I am still waiting to get caught up on things....maybe this week???
God Bless You All,

8/10/2003 21:02

OH, I almost forgot....Deb, I loved the pictures. The boys remind me a lot of Aaron and Christopher when they were little. They are also 2 years apart and at one point everyone thought they were twins too!
And Skyla is just beautiful!

Dear Angel Moms, ~ I have missed everyone so much. It seems my computer problems never cease. Since I switched over to AOL Broadband, it's been nothing but headaches. I really don't think it's the service this time, however. I think it's time to add the new memory or something. I have no difficulty signing on, but getting access to beliefnet and opening emails have been a big problem for the last week or so. I keep getting the error message: site not responding. Then I have to reboot (?) or start all over again. Just now, it took restarting the computer 4 times to get here! Now that I am, I just want to say that I really have missed everyone, and I have just about been out of my mind wondering how everyone was getting along. Glad to know that everyone is hanging in there. :) Thank you all for the fwd pages and for your prayers. Cheryl's father-in-law is doing OK so far and thank you for praying for him. James is a car saleman and works long hours. With his father being hospitalized, and devoting much time to their church ministry, they have their hands full, and I wouldn't think of adding my computer problems. I know they will check it out for me when time permits. The hands and wrists feel much better since I've given them some rest. Thanks again for your prayers. Deb, I, too, will be lighting a candle for Michael on his birthday, Aug. 12th, and his anniversary, Aug. 14th. Selva, I know this will be a first for you, and I pray that God will give you the strength and all the support you need to get through it. The first is so difficult. I join all the angel moms in lighting a candle on Aug. 15th for Solange's first anniversary, also. The special days are always difficult, no matter how much time has passed. I believe it's the prayers we continue to pray each day that gives us the added strength we need to make it through those special days. I thank God everyday for the power of prayer! Also, Selva, I could not get the the Dr. Moody link to respond. I can hardly wait to see the pictures. I will keep trying. Lisa, I am so glad that Christopher was not injured in the accident. Thank God for that! Glad to know that you are about settled into your new office, and, oh yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Also, a belated happy birthday to your sister-in-law. Sandy, God bless you, thank you for being the wonderful angel mom that you are!
Love and Hugs to all.

8/11/2003 10:22

Hi dear Lisa, gosh yes, no Internet at work, and then by the time you get home you just want to relax, :). A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Gosh, lots of Birthdays lately and to come; saturday was Donna's Mikey's b'day, your's today, and Deb's Michael's tomorrow. Yes, these special days always remind us of the missing chair, our child who isn't here anymore. I hope your visit to the Graveyard gives you some peace and comfort, a beautiful gift on your Birthday. You too, huh? I can take the heat, but this humidity is a pain in the butt, :) Oh Lisa, you don't have to accept it yet! It hasn't even been a year yet, you follow your own pace, it takes a while for us to come to some sort of 'acceptance'. So please don't feel bad, your grief is very normal right now! Oh my gosh, Praise God that Christopher is alright!
Your heart must have been in your throat when you heard about it. Aaron was watching over him, and his Angels.
That's unfortunate about his car, but he's OK, and that's all that matters. Good for Christopher, going to College!
Take your time Lisa, we all miss you, but now we know why we haven't heard from you, try to have a swell day, and as always our prayers and love are with you,
Love & Hugs,

8/11/2003 10:34

Hello dear Miss V! Terrific to see a post from you too! Oh gosh, more comp. problems? Yes, you just might need more memory installed, have you tried on your own to make more room, such as deleting your temp. Internet Files, cookies, Trash? Or perhaps there's some old Programs or Files that you don't use anymore, and you could delete them and free up some space. We miss you too, and I'm happy to hear that Cheryl's father-in-law is doing much better as well as yourself!! Perhaps the rest has helped to heal your hands and arms a bit, :) as well as prayers.
Oh yes, Selva's pics from her trip are terrific, so I hope you are able to open it soon. Thank you Miss V, and God bless you too for all you do! Great to have you back,
Much love & Hugs,

Hi my dear friend Deb, just to let you know that I'm thinking of you today on Michael's Birthday, and you know my prayers and love are with you today and everyday. I loved your Poem, it comes straight from a loving Mom's heart and I know that Michael loved reading it too. We all love you dear Deb, and we know this is a very hard week for you with Michael's birthday and Anniversary so close together, but I'm hoping and praying for a special 'gift' for you from Michael today. Hi Sandy, ~ I'm just signing on to check up on everyone. Sure hope you and family are not affected by the power outage. I've been asleep most of the day and just heard about it on the news. I join others in praying for all affected by this outage. It seems NY has had it's share of troubles. Yes, I love the little book, Bear Hugs. I think I would have purchased it no matter what because of the title. :) It reminded me so much of Donna's gift of bear hugs. It's a tiny book with only 64 pages, but such beautiful writings and colorful pictures of cute little bears.:) I found it in a local drugstore in the greeting cards section.
Selva, God bless you, please know that our prayers are with you and we are with you in spirit and love. Take care angel moms, and I'll try to get back on a little later tonight to check on everyone. Lisa, Eva, our love and prayers are with you also.
Deb, hang in there and allow our prayers, love, and warm bear hugs to go with you during this time. Sorry we can't be there to hold your hand, but we hold you in our hearts.
Love and bear hugs to all.

Letter to An Angel

Dear Guardian Angel:
Your Mom will be extra sad today
You know the reason why
It's the anniversary of your home going
The day she thinks you died
But you know the truth of the matter
You see the things we can't see
So I'm asking this special favor of you
Please do this just for me ...
Send your Mom a special blessing today
Let her know that you're Okay
Let her feel your arms around her
Make her sadness go away
Give her kisses in the wind that blows
Lift her spirits on the wings of a dove
Reassure her that death has no power
Over unconditional love
An Angel Mom

My Dearest Donna, ~ God is so wonderful. :) Thanks for reassuring me of the power of His unconditional love. Your post to my Diane really touched my heart deeply. Tears of joy swelled up in my eyes when I read what you wrote about Diane swiping the icing off the cake. :) One of my most favorite and fond memories involves Diane grabbing a tiny fist full of icing off of her birthday cake on her first birthday. My sister's daughter, Felicia, and Diane were born 9 days apart... Diane, on Aug. 16th and Felicia, on Aug. 25th. At the time, my sister, Pearl, and I lived next door to each other, and had planned their birthday party together. I had just taken Diane's cake out of the box and placed it on the coffee table, and turned to get the camera so I could take a picture of it BEFORE we lit the candles. That is when I heard my sister calmly say, "Verna ... Look at this." I turned around just in time to see Diane with her little fist full of cake and icing.:) Of course we rolled with laughter as she proceeded to taste it, and with icing all over her face and cute little outfit, I snapped a picture of her enjoying her first birthday cake. :) As the saying goes ... "Thanks for the memories." :)
Love & BearHugs, and Fond memories ...
