Here's a little something I wrote. It's original intent was to focus my thougts while carving a bindrune with the runes of the Gods and Goddesses mentioned, but it struck me a a lovely prayer, maybe even a nice one to recite with your children.

With Thor's hammer to protect us all,
Freya's beauty to give us hope,
With sword in hand, Tyr leads us all to justice
and Frey promises rebirth.
And all the while Frigga wears a smile of maternal love,
queen up in Asgard, she cares for us from above.

Hail the Aesir and Vanir!

Thor give me strength!!!

It takes sharp wits to travel in the world --
they're not so hard on you at home;
in the flicker of an eye the fool is found

Here's a children's prayer...

Now I lay me down to rest,

It's taken me 7yrs to get this to a point I would consider done. Well here it is....

Thunor how great you are to me! How unpredictable and wonderful! How lovely and good! I love you and am thankful for you!

I am just a 13 year old child who had to grow up to fast, with out a real mother it was hard but i got threw it because i was tought about you from my father. I have tryed to fallow you'r ways and i do the best i can. Please gide me and help me to find my way.

As I write this, it is a Thursday evening, the holy day of our friend Thor. Every week I offer a flame (lamp or candle) to him. After santifying with my ritual hammer, I make the following offering:

"Friend Thor, accept this flame
as a sign of communion and kinship.
May it serve as a beacon to those
whe seek the God of Thunder!"

Wassail All!

I have bad news and a request for prayrers. A jail guard and dispatcher
were shot to death late last night in my hometown of Huntsville, MO in an attempted jail break of a prisoner being held for another county. Killed
were my niece in law's supervisor and head jailer Leon Egley, 33, and
jailer Jason Acton, 36. The county has a policy of not allowing weapons to be
carried by the jailers, least a prisoner pull the weapon. And all deputies were on patrol. The jailbreak did fail as they could not find the keys to the cells. The two suspects have been caught, and if convicted are likely to get the death penalty.

My family knew both of these men and my niece in law and nephew had worked with both of them (my neice is a dispatcher for the county and was thank the Gosd off duty, my nephew is a Moberly Police officer (soon to be KC) and former Head Road Deputy of Randolph Co). Had I not moved to St. Louis, I may well have
worked with them as well as I had applied to be a dispatcher myself. This is the second bad event to happen to
Randolph Co. Mo law enforcement. 16 months ago there was a shootout in
Huntsville with two fugitives from Georgia where three police officers
were wounded.

I ask you please pray to the Gods for these men's families. Yes, they are
Christian. But Huntsville was very tolerant of my being Heathen, and even
helpful and supportive. This is quite a lot to ask of a town of only 3000
with 8 Christian churches within the city limits. The only way I can ever
repay the kindness of my friends and neigbours back home, is to lift a horn to the Gods, and when deaths as these strike, ask others to do the same. Both these men served Thunour, Tiw, and Forsete in their own way, and deserve to be honoured regardless of their faith.

Here I am, a heathen alone haunting the hedges of my little wood. Here on the fringe of the suburbs of society. Here I see others not so different from me. My heart is a little gladder here today. And as for prayers I havent any prayers so come what may is the spell I like to say. Whatever comes here today cmon then ok. I'll not ask Please and I Hate to Wait.

When we would falter and drift away from our kin, when we would not stand up to those who dismiss our religion, let us remember those who came before us. The fearless brave ones, always watching out for us.

Hail Asatru! Hail Odinism! Hail the religion of the Tru Folk! May we stay dedicated to the ways of our ancestors and not try to pervert it to serve our own needs, if those needs do not match what is right and good and honorable.
