dorothy gale
please pray

I feel pretty dumb asking for this prayer when I know there are other people with more serious issues but here goes. I have a 13 year old dog who has some serious health problems.

Please pray that my dog will get somewhat better with the medicines she is taking. Please let her hang on for a little longer and please pray that when it is time for her to go that I will have the strength to let her go. Please pray that I will once again feel the power and love of God that I seem to have lost. Please let me find God again and let Him become the important thing in my life that He once was.... I am very scared and need to feel comforted by God

dorothygale; I know how difficult it is to lose a pet. You must believe that God would not take your little dog if He didn't feel that she needed to go be with Him. I pray that she pulls thru because pets are family and give us the love we need as well as the love they get from us. Perhaps this is the cycle of life for you to gain strength from now. Always feel the power of God because he does give us trials that must be dealt with, only because He has them as part of His plan for us. God only gives us as much as He thinks we can handle. Be comforted to know that God loves you and all of His creatures.
God Bless,
Mrs. Woods

Dorothy, I know what you are feeling. Two years ago I lost my beloved Merlin, my companion cat for 19 years! It was so very hard. He was sick for a year and i loved him "extra" during his illness. I gave him massages and extra love... I prayed to my gods for strength to endure when he passed over to his place of peace. It ws very very hard but i made it through.

I pray for you little dogs health and healing today. and i pray that you will be given the strength you need. Blessings! Madeline

Dorothy: You and your beloved friend are in my prayers and I hope you have more time together. In my life I have been blessed with several wonderful dogs; and have 3 cats whom I love dearly. When each of my dogs died it was like loosing family, because they were. I firmly believe that I provided each one of them with a very happy, loving home and will see all of them again someday. I pray your friend gets well so you have more time together; but if God decides the time is sooner please find some comfort knowing how very happy she was and lucky to have your love for as long as she did. I will be thinking of you. God Bless you both.
Kathleen

Dorothy, Please do not feel dumb asking for a prayer for your ill dog. Pets are family. They are always there for us, more than people sometimes. I have lost a couple dogs over the years so understand a bit a what you are going through. You & your dog are in my prayers. I will pray the he or she recovers so that you may have more speial times together. But please keep in mind that he knows how much you love him & if by chance that God feels it is time to take him, he will always be with you. I will pray for you both. -Lilly

Dorothy, please do not be affraid for your dog. With it's eyes it has seen everything you have shared with it and just as you smile remembering days you've spent together-your dog does too. Please realize that you don't need the strength-it is already there for you-your dog, beleive it or not will let you know how it feels and you'll find that fear is not one of them-just love your dog as always and remember that things do happen for a reason.

Dorothy
There is nothing silly about asking for prayers for your dog. Your dog is one of God's greatest creatures. After all how many other creatures can live so well along side man and love us unconditionally for all their lives. When it is time to let your dog go, he will tell you. Until he does, keep your faith in God and keep praying for your dog. There is a poem called the "Rainbow Bridge" I think, that tells of our pets waiting for us outside Heaven's gates to be reunited with us when the time comes. Every night when I pray, I still pray for my dog of 18 years who passed away 3 years ago. I'll include an extra prayer that your dog will hang on a bit longer.

Dorothy,
I lost a 21 year old cat 4 1/2 years ago. She was my best buddy. I had her from the time she was just weeks old. I truly believe that there is a place in heaven for our beloved pets. When your loving dog's time comes she will wait patiently in heaven for you. When I had to put my dear friend to sleep (one of the the hardest things I've ever done) the Vet said to me. "Sometimes they hold on just for us." The time comes to let them go. I'll pray for you to receive the wisdom to know the time to give your pet up to the Lord.

Dorothy
i know the pain you must be feeling right now-i lost my beloved cat of 11 years this past december- he had a chronic illness, but lived a full and happy life-but when his illness flared up in dec, i knew it was time to let go- i had always prayed to god to give me the strength to know when it was time- we spent our last weekend together and i prayed, cried and told this beloved animal what a difference he had made in my life- i stayed with him while he was euthanized and my last words to him were don't be afraid, god will catch you-and i know he did-i felt a wonderful sense of peace in the cab ride home- it was a beautiful sunny dec day- i looked at the sky and thought, what a beautiful day to go to heaven- i will pray for you and your beloved pet dorothy and have faith and trust in god AND your dog- he will let you know when it is time, but you must be willing to see it, even thought it may be painful for you. What a lucky dog he is to have such a wonderful human to share his life with.

Dorothy, I know how you're feeling. A year ago, June 1, we lost our beloved dog of 13 years. Trust that God is with you and your beloved dog during this time. You are also in my thoughts and prayers.

Dorothy, I will pray for you and your This past fall, I lost my Pipi, a Beagle mix to a sudden heart attack. Her death ripped me apart. I did a lot of soul searching and net exploring. There are hundreds of people like us, who love our animal family members. I know that Pipi is waiting for me with God, and someday, I will see her again. Just as your pet's spirit is always with you, so is the Lord. Your pets unconditional love is just a sampling of the unconditional love of our Lord. He understands, and he will be there for you. Trust in him to take care of you and your loving pet.

In my work with dying people I saw many a testament of love and faith between animals and humans. I pray that we can remember that we are all fellow creatures connected by love and the spark of divinity. Blessings and peace to you and your dog.

Dorothy, When my youngest child was just 4 years old, our cat Mindy was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given only a few weeks to live. He cried so hard. Then he started praying for her. That Sunday, after church, we saw him in the church yard on his knees. When we asked him what he was doing he said, "Kitties eat grass when they are sick. Since this is church grass, it will make Mindy better. I asked God to help her and I'm taking her some church grass, because it's from God's house." That night we thought Mindy would be dead by morning. The next morning, she started to eat. She still had cancer but she lived another 3 years. Just have the faith of a little child and believe that what ever happens, God will never give you more than you can handle. God bless you. Mary J. Pike
