Please pray for Beth Uval who has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. Beth lives in Israel and is devoted to her family and her religios life at her temple. She is about to undergo a rigorous treatment for her cancer.

Dear Dave,

OK I know it has been a long time since I have written to you. And, of course, you know I have taken your name in vain on numerous occasions. But I don't mind humbling my prideful manner or risking the charge of hypocrisy because I am writing to you on behalf of a most precious and special person who holds a most remarkably important place in my life and in the lives of many others.
You know Beth Uval. She's the one with the gorgeous enveloping smile and heart whose warmth and kindness have captured so many, many people including of course yours truly. You know the one down on Elazar Hamodai St. whom you see every shabbat in her white skirt trundling up to shul, the one whose wonderful children and grandchildren have crowded into her house to share the warmth of her love and good food.
Well, Dave--now try not to be distracted but focus, focus, focus-- she's ill and will soon start a tough program which will restore her to good health,
