Morris Family
Blended family faces difficulties

Prayer for healing among family relationships.

My husband's alcoholism and abuse has hurt and disrupted our blended family for the past six years. He is now in recovery and would like to be part of our lives once again. However, my daughter, J, is extremely hurt and angry over his past abuses and cannot find it in her heart to forgive him. My husband, B, also has a lot of displaced anger toward my daughter (as an alcoholic usually places blame for their predicament on someone else, and she is the easiest target for him). As a mother and wife, it breaks my heart to see two people I love filled with so much hate for the other, although my first instinct is to protect my child. They need a healing in their relationship that can only come from God. Both need to learn compassion, grace and forgiveness for the other. God's love and mercy needs infused into their souls so that we may continue as a whole family. Thank you so much for your sincere prayers.
