My sister, the soldier and her friends

It's Easter. And I made an egg for someone who is very far away. My sister is in Iraq, you see, and she's far from home like many other soldiers. I ask you to pray for her and her brothers and sisters today, and to let them know you care.

I bow my head and pray
for my sister this Easter day.
I hope that she is safe
where you have sent her, Lord.
I trust you just as she does,
to let you guide our way.
I don't believe in everything she does,
but I hope to some day.
My sister is in harms way now,
Dear and Mighty God,
Please keep her in your thoughts
and in your heart.
I know that she is called there
by the power of man as well,
but I ask you, my Lord,
please take care of her.
She is a soldier chosen among all
to help those in need.
She has never turned away from someone
who asks for help, indeed
she is the best woman I know.
Please keep her in your soul,
My God, and hold her in your arms.
It's Easter and she is far from home,
but knows that we love her dearly.
Please protect her, her soldiers,
and the ones that they protect.
Keep her safe until she comes back to us.
And let her know that she is loved.
Amen.
