Harvey is a 12 year old ADHD student. Although he looks normal he has a diability that is causing trouble in school.

This prayer circle is setup to pray for Harvey Jones and other children with special needs. Pray for understanding teachers and schools willing to make the necessary modifications to accomodate the needs of students with ADHD and other disabilities.

AD/HD is a developmental discorder of probable neurogenetic origins in which some unique environmental factors play a role in expression of the disorder. AD/HD is a disorder of performance.

There may be grave consequences for persons with AD/HD who do not receive treatment or receive inadequate treatment. These consequences can include low self-esteem, social and academic failure, and a possible increase in the risk of later antisocial and criminal behavior. Treating AD/HD in children requires, medical, psychological and educational intervention, and behavior management.(CHADD, PG1)

Parents with AD/HD students and students with other disabilities need suppport. They most sucessful form of treatment is called "multimodal" and includes: parent training; an appropriate education program; individual and family counseling when needed; and medication when required.

Lord, cause Harvey not to become discouraged. Please protect from a spirit of rejections,loneliness, and anger. Help him to understand that he is predestined for your glory. Teach him to walk in your peace. Lord, prepare his going out and his coming in. Help him to know that his times are in your hand. Show him your strong arm of protection as he go through his day. Cause him to slow down and think before he acts. Give hime the patience to complete all of his assignments today. Lord open his eye of understanding. These and all blessing we ask in Jesus name. Amen.

Please bring good teachers and school administrators into his life, so that his self-esteem will not be affected. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
