Citizens of Apex, North Carolina
Many residents of Apex, NC, were evacuated this morning after a huge chemical fire.

I grew up in Raleigh, NC, right next to Apex. Many people I know are being affected directly and indirectly by this horrible accident.

18 people, mostly workers at the chemical plant or aid workers, have been hospitalized. More than 17,000 people were evacuated from their homes. My parents do not live in the evacuation zone but are still just a few miles away from where this accident took place. Many other friends and loved ones have been evacuated, but we have not yet been able to get ahold of them. It is too early to tell what kind of long-term environmental damage will occur as a result of this fire. Please join me in prayers for the residents of the town of Apex, NC.
