The Loss Of Our Son, Rhys

The loss of our son, Rhys. He was killed while riding his bike, in our neighborhood, on June 23, 2006. Rhys was 9 yrs old.

We lost our oldest son, Rhys, on June 23, 2006. He was riding his bike with a friend and his brother, who is 5 years old. Pray they forget what they saw that day. We have had a hard time mentally, physically, and financially on our family. I have a hard time not blaming myself,I wished that I had told the boys to not worry about getting out their bikes. We were not going to be home long. I am hurt and feel lost everyday. I pray everyday and I thank God that Rhys did not suffer. Our preacher told us that we have to pray for the guy that killed our son, this guy was speeding and talking on his cell phone, through our residential area, when he killed our son instantly. I pray that something good comes out of our ordeal. Please keep us in your prayers because I dont think we can fully begin to heal till everything has been done in this matter. The world lost a good person that day, he was going to do good in this world.

Help them Lord, to cope with this tragedy in a way that will bring praise and glory to you in their daily walk as God fearing, God loving, faithful temples for your greater purpose. Lift them up Lord, and bless their lives in a manner suitable to your will and for your glory. 	Anesis 8/26/2006 01:19	Lord, how hard it is to pray for this! What can one possibly pray that would bring any sort of comfort to this family in such deep grief? And yet in such a devastating trial, in the midst of such a tragic loss, Father, we know You are still seated on Your throne; You are still Sovereign. Lord God, I pray that you keep this family well in their grief, and keep their hearts soft to You and to one another. Give them the grace to come to a heart of forgiveness for the driver, and may their reaction to this incident bring that driver to full repentance and spiritual reconciliation with You. Remind the family, Lord, of your empathy, for you know every tear they shed. And most of all, send your Spirit to comfort them day and night. Praying for the sake of the Kingdom, and in the name of the Son Jesus Christ. Amen

	Diana_Libberton 8/26/2006 01:57	Heather - I'm so sorry to hear such painful news. You have the sweetest boys, always smiling, kind, outgoing and so good to each other. My heart breaks for you all. Ryan adored his brother and it's so hard to hear that he had to see his brother's life taken like that in an instant. I'm grateful that He did not suffer and can only imagine Jesus sweeping him up in that very instant, but I know this has to be the hardest thing in the world for each of you. My deepest and sincerest prayers go out to you all. I know Rhys was so fortunate to have each of you in his lives. It's so hard to see God's plans in the midst of all the suffering. I pray that He pours out His blessings on your family. That you see His love for you through each person that reaches out to your family. I pray that Ryan only remembers how much his brother loved him and how good he was to him. I pray he remembers how much he loved Rhys as well and looked up to him. I pray that the sweet memories he has of his brother far outway the trama he is going through in losing him. I pray God gives you and Tim strength, comfort and healing each day in Him. We know that You Father are in control. We have assurance, Blessed assurance, that Your childern who are called home are in Your loving care. Give Heather,Tim and Ryan peace of mind in their lives and over this. Father reassure them that their oppertunity to reunite with their beloved child lies within Your merciful and loving arms. Lord allow restitution between the Hammocks and the unfortunate person who was driving the vehicle. Send Your Spirit to uplift the spirits of all those involved. Let them know, Father, that we love them and they are in our thuoghts. For it is in the name of His Majesty, our Comforter, the Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
