My Handicapped Son- My Survivor

My son, Matthew, whose name means Gift from God, is handicapped with Cerebral Palsy and is visually impaired. He is very confused and lost because his older brother is in prison for the rest of his life.

It seems like only yesterday, I gave birth to a little boy
So tiny and so frail, he was still my pride and joy
Over the years he struggled to do his very best
You see, my little boy was different - he wasn't like the rest
We had our heartaches and shed our tears
We had our setbacks and our fears
But through it all, he kept that smile
And always went that extra mile
He's always brought everyone around him so much joy
He will always and forever be Heaven's Special Boy

It's okay for you to cry too, you miss your big brother so much. I will pray so hard that God gives you understanding some how, and peace and love to be able to share with your family and be okay. You will get thru this hard time, i pray, with lots of love and hugs from your family and friends. You have someone special in heaven looking out for you, too.
