mother and wife with depression and spending addiction problem

Family is suffering because of mom's selfish behaviors

Hi everyone,
I'm lost and don't know where to go. I have a problem with over- spending, and being sneaky about it. I've tried to stop so many times, and I'm sure my husband has a hard time believing I want to stop. I feel so badly for him, the pain and distrust he feels. He won't talk to me now. He's told me before he'd divorce me if I kept this up.
I feel bad for my children, who need things, and there isn't the money, but when I want something, I find the money.
I got caught today, and am grateful, because I can feel the reality of the situation, rather than going on in my own little world, thinking only of myself and my petty little wants.
I know I need to trust God more than I have, I know He will provide the best answer to this dilemma. It's hard trying to maintain a connection with Him, while I feel so scared and scattered.
Please send your prayers for this family~ I'm so desperate for a change. Thank you.

	angeleyes1970 5/11/2001 16:52	I am dealing with the same problem and have for years, I have no idea how to stop spending, I have tried to find a therapist, but it seems like they no nothing.... i have no idea what direction to go. I grew up with a Dad who is still basically a overspender and gambler, so I know it is a learned behavior, But how do I stop, i know this was supposse to be a prayer, But i need some direction,.... 	powerofHisgrace 12/19/2001 14:13	I understand your pian for my husband and I are going through the same thing, however it is his mother who has the problem. I pray that the Lord's will shall be done in this situation and in ours. I pray that He will help both families overcome this spiritual stronghold that has affected them.

When I saw this prayer request, the title compelled me to inquire further. Little did I know that someone else in the world was struggling with the same issues as me, and not just one person, but many. Dear sisters in Christ Jesus, I stand with you all against this flood from the enemy, and united in prayer before a Heavenly Father that not only loves us unconditionally, but wants us to have life more abundantly, free from every addiction except that of the desire to be filled with his Holy Spirit,we ARE victorious over this, because He is VICTORIOUS. God Bless each and everyone far above anything we can ever imagine! Every need met in the matchless name of Jesus. And since our affections are set on bringing him pleasure, he Will give us the desires of our hearts. AMEN
