All People
Worldwide Suffering

Remembering the effectiveness of a worldwide Earth Day meditation held years ago, I urge all to participate in a similar event to be held on Nov. 1, 2004 -- the day prior to our national election.

Whatever your religious faith or political sentiments, please pause as often as possible on Nov. 1, 2004, to visualize a world in which misery is abated, hunger is fed, grief is comforted, violence ceases, and forgiveness and peace reign. Pray for leaders across the globe, that wisdom will guide their decision-making; and that Americans who elect their next president will cast votes based upon well-balanced knowledge, mental clarity, and spiritual discernment. Let us put aside all differences for a day, acknowledge our human insufficiencies, and allow the power of faith to heal, strengthen, and light the way to higher ground.
