The WVCP assists stranded motorists, removes hazards from the roadway thereby reducing the chance of secondary accidents, provides gas or directions, changes a flat tire, and in general, works to enhance the safety of our state's highways. The Courtesy Pat

To serve the traveling public, 25 well-marked FORD F-150's patrol the 25 assigned areas of patrol. The areas consist of eight interstates and five corridors in twenty-nine counties throughout the state. They operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This is the only Courtesy Patrol Program in the nation to operate statewide and around the clock, which is one reason why many national leaders have recognized the Courtesy Patrol as a national model.
