Losing the will to live

Living through Betrayal and death

Within 3 weeks I discovered that the man I had fallen deeply in love with was married, even though they had apparently been separated for some reason for the 9 months we dated. Not only did I discover that he was married, but that the reason he told me he was "taking her back" (he claimed she was terminally ill and needed to assure she reached the highest level of heaven)was also a lie. He was the equivalent of an elder in his church. There were religious aspects to the betrayal.

Three weeks after this discovery, my mother, who had been ill but was not expected to die, was admitted to the hospital and died 5 days later.

The combination of the two losses has left me empty; at times struggling to get out of bed and move forward. Prayers are asked to help me regain my will to live and to help me move beyond my anger and suffering.

Sweet Paula. Let me share a saying that I live by and have found true due to my own experience. Through adversity brings perseverence, through perseverence strenth, through strenth brings obedience. God knows how much one can handle, and he will not let your limit be passed. Remember that these things are all shadows and dust to the world beyond. :-) Pray in times of need for guidance. Trust God. WE may not always know the answer and why he is making us go through things, but there is a reason. Life is the most blessed gift God gave us. Enjoy it. Mourn when there is time to mourn, be upset when there are times to be upset, but don't forget that true happiness lies inside of you and in all things around you. Meditate on these thoughts and God will guide you and lead you. You just have to listen faithfully and without doubt.

Paula, I also know the feelings of betrayal. I have been going through it off and on with the same man for the last 5 years. A month ago, I thought I was a goner. I was as low as I could go. When you pray to God and allow the Holy Spirit to enter into you, He somehow always manages to pick you up out of the deepest despair. He gives you incredible strength to rise above that overwhelming sadness and carry on with your life. There is a man somewhere that God has waiting for you. Pray for God to guide you to that person. He cries along with us. He knows what we need. He always listens to our prayers....and answers them. Don't give up, Paula. After every storm, there is a rainbow.

Dear Paula,

I think that betrayal is one of the hardest, deepest hurts. As the first person wrote, be confident that God will NOT give you more than you can handle! That is His scriptual promise, Paula!

It is so much easier to give up, than to hang on. Exhausted and empty, you see no reason to go on. But Paula, the choice is not yours! God has not removed you from this earth yet, so he want you to keep living! Even if it's for one more day, there is a purpose in that!

The more you allow the holy spirit to invade your lonliness and pain, the sooner it will replace those parts inside of you!

As for the man, he did not deserve you! God will deal with his wrongdoings. Go to God and repent for the wrongdoings which were yours, and yes, be confident that if you are honest in your request, God will deliver you from your pain, and to a man who loves you with honest and purity of heart!!!

Paula, I know it is hard.I have loved and been betrayed before. The pain is excrutiating and devastating. But, he is not worth your precious life. Joy comes in the morning.Hold on to God's unchanging hand,Paula.Everything will work out. you will find joy.
