Prisoners Are People Too

There are people in this country who are incarcerated that need our help.

I am from Vermont. But even in my small, and mostly rural state things are not always what you think they are. The situation in our prisons has gotten so bad that there have been prisoners commiting suicide because thay are in solitary confinemnt for the wrong reasons. Prisoners shipped out of state have reported physical and sexual assults. I know that these people have been found guilty of crimes, but they are STILL PEOPLE. If we are going to require them to be put into the custody of the state or federal corrections deptment, we should make sure that the people running these facilities are doing their jobs correctly, since our taxes are paying their saleries.

	allforjoy 8/12/2011 21:50	Father, in Jesus name, I ask that you free the mind, body and spirit of my young nephew Martez who is in prison for the first (and last, dear Lord) time. He mistakenly thought that he could earn money to help the family by getting involved with drugs. He knows now we would never have accepted this. He is a good person who has had an extremely tough time over the past few years. His mother died in his arms. His father betrayed him and put his life at risk. I pray that you lift these pains from his spirit. Strengthen him through Your unfailing love. Surround him with your angels to guide his thoughts and actions and protect him. When his time is up, return him as a better and wiser man, stronger in faith and integrity. Father, I submit this prayer for every prisoner today. May each of them come to know the truth, repent and be set free to glorify You in all they do. Amen.
