My precious friend

My dearest "Second Mom", Wanita, has been in my life for 20 years. When my own mother died in 1984, she became my "shoulder to cry on", my encouragement, my confidant, and much more. I love her more than you will ever know.

My Wanita is 87 years young. She has just undergone two years of diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, enduring a mastectomy, chemo and radiation and all the pain, anguish and uncertainty that is part of the dreaded breast cancer disease. Never once have I heard her complain, whine or otherwise say that she was losing faith. She is absolutely awesome in her acceptance of the disease and hope for the cure. Her favorite statement goes like this: "No matter which way it goes, I am going to be fine, so don't you worry about me." She was to undergo a biopsy last week for a suspicious area in the abdomen, but it was delayed when her blood pressure shot up to dangerous levels. After a trip to the ER, she is now scheduled for Aug. 6th. Anyone who wishes to pray for her will be appreciated. God is miraculous in his love for her and all who suffer this dreaded disease, and her love for Him is her strongest medicine.
