The alcoholic who still suffers
In or out of the rooms of A.A.

Be they inside or outside the rooms of A.A. -- may the Holy Spirit be with them.

For those who still suffer the ravages of alcoholism or other substance-related addictions. That they might find a path to a Higher Power and by grace move toward serenity and peace. That they might find the willingness, the openess and the honesty to recover and serve God's purposes for them.

I offer a prayer for all who suffer from the disease of alchoholism, that they may grow strong spiritually, realize that they need help and seek it out, that they realize that God is the One at the helm of their lives and they can lean on Him, and that He gives them the physical, mental and spiritual strength to stay away from alcohol, and remain strong in whatever faith they believe in, amen.

I pray for everyone who suffers from this. My husband is an alcoholic. He just realized it the other day (I did also) when he had an accident and he was drunk. He went to the bar against my wishes (on a weeknight) and stayed out until 12:30am. When we met and fell in love he was so nice and romantic. Shortly after we got married he started being rude and unhelpful to me. After the accident (he asked for help and has not had another drink in almost two weeks) it seems like he is a different person. He helps me with the things around the house. He tells me that he loves me. He has not yelled at me in two weeks. Even though it is costing us a lot of money (legal matters) I know that God will provide us with the basics to survive. Thank God no one else was involved in the accident. He even started going to church with me (his choice). He did the change for himself not for me. God helped him. Thank you God for making sure that no one else was involved in the accident and that he was okay. I thank you Lord for giving me back the man that I fell in love with and alowing us to grow closer instead of farther apart.

My mother is an alcoholic, and it has been one of her biggest gifts. In seeking recovery, she has found many good friends, a new sense of spirituality, and a deeper meaning to her own life. My prayer for those in active addition is that they too will find peace and light in this hard life lesson, that they will prevail over this disease. Blessed Be. May we all walk in truth, love, and light.

The empty whole we so desperately seek to fill, the inner voices speaking of our worthlessness, inabilities past failures, the fear and pain we evoke on
those who attempt to get near us, our own fears of being found out for being less than what we represent, legal problems, lost love and respect of family members, lost jobs, finanical difficulties. What else do you have to loose but the above by surrendering to
God's will? Oh Gracious Father use any means necessary to touch the hearts and turn the souls so enslaved by alcohol to your side. They seek freedom and peace in all the wrong areas so afraid of what it will cost them to surrender.
Thank You for the years of recovery and the years of the above without them I would never have reached for your loving hand.

SOBRIETY IS JUST NOT ABSTINENCE. SOBRIETY SHOULD BE IN OUR THOUGHTS, WORDS, AND DEEDS.

SOBRIETY IS A GOD'S GIFT AND OUR GIFT TO HIM IS BY NOT TAKING THE FIRST FATAL DRINK/SUBSTANCE.

SOBRIETY COMES ONLY WHEN GOD INTEREVENS AND LETS ALL RECOVERING ADDICTS PRAY FOR ALL THE SUFFERING ONES THAT THEY MAY TAP THE UNSUSPECTED INNER RESOURCE IN ALL OF US I.E. THE HIGHER POWER.

HAPPY SOBRIETY

Alcoholism is not a moral issue, one can take responsiblity for it by living life on a Spiritual Basic. I pray that this light be shown to my child who is God's Child too.

Blessed Be
