Thomas Jensen
unborn son of Don and Amy Jensen

Thomas has been diagnosed with a severe heart defect. Questionable if he will even survive the pregnancy. Doctors plan to tkae him early and go right into surgery to begin redirection of blood flow

Thomas has a disease called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). The series of surgeries( at least 3 or 4) will eventually reroute the bloodflow coming back from the body directly to the lungs, rather than to the heart first.
We have a son who will be 7 in December with the same disease, but less severe. The doctors are not going to guarantee that Thomas will survive till January. If he does, as soon as his lungs are ready, they will take him by cesearean, and head right to surgery. If all goes as well as his brother, he should be in the hospital about a month for the first surgery. the rest will come dependant upon his growth
