Young Indians in America
Indian young adults who go through tough times living in two worlds...

I am from India (origially), but I'm also an American. Being in this country, but holding on to my heritage can be difficult at times. Whether it be fitting in, sticking out, dating, heartache or anything else...there are at least two different viewpoints.

I want to pray for those Indian Americans who have had to deal with different issues, and have often found themselves stuck in the middle, with no-where to go.
I guess that is where I am in my life right now...and it seems no matter what I do...there always seems to be more hurt and confusion.
The only thing I can do, and probably the most efficient...is to pray.
I ask you all to join me and pray. It can be for anyone..or for yourself. You don't have to be Indian, or of any particular faith. But if you feel the way I do...join me.

Dear Sharara1,
Today I prayed for you. You touched my heart. I am a christian and native american. I have worked for Indian families and got to know them pretty well. I do understand your situation. I do pray that God will use you in a mighty way, to be an encourager and a constant help to others in your life. I used the symbol above for you ~ that both parts of you will always come together and you'll never be torn between the two. Fill your heart with love and you'll never be empty!
In God's love

Namaste Sharara1,

I am a American of Indian descent. I agree that often we're faced with dilemmas and situations were our faith and heritage are tested. I try to look at them as points in time where Bhagavan is testing us, so that we might become stronger and improve ourselves spiritually.

Namaste Sharara1,
Yes, it is difficult to be a traditional Hindu, and I will join in your prayer. I am a native of India now living in the U.S. But may I point out that being amidst this cultural and spiritual diversity is exciting? It gives us a chance to reflect on how all religions are essentially the same and seek to provide followers peace of mind and heart, spiritual wellness and paths toward shanthi or nirvana or salvation or whatever other term one may use. I pray that people can set aside their trivial, human-made differences and embrace the oneness of the Truth.

Namaskaram.

I am also a US raised Asian Indian, and I have spent almost all of my life searching for the balanced approach to our heritage that we all seek. I join in sincere prayer with all of you. May the Divine Couple look upon us with Their Mercy and Compassion.

Namaskar Sharara1,
I am Hindu, born in india and raised here.I really admire at those who really balances Eastern and western Culture.I really disagree with "what other think !' fobia.
If you are Hindu, stand out as Hindu.
If you are vegitarian, the Corporate America love you. It is a fashion, I never had eggs, nor animal or bird or seafood. There are thousands of US born Hindu executives travelling tru out the world practicing religion and belief. In lunchion meeting in Connecticut with Mr.Joseph Lieberman Senator and vice Presidential candidate, said that you should be proud of your heritage.

Eshavara is with you all._The Creator

God, I am thankful for all my Indian American brothers and sisters and the beauty they bring to our country. Thank you for sharing them and their culture with me. I love their bright clothing, the way they speak, the way they look, the peacefulness that emanates from them. I pray you will always keep me conscious of accepting and embracing their differences. Because their difference is only a place inside of me waiting to be awakened. I pray you will pour all of your love and self-acceptance into Sharara1 and allow her/him to give the gift of her/his divine self to other people in the world that may be searching, and find an answer in Sharara1's example. Amen.

hi! sahara,
Thats true I believe everyone stuck between cultures, goes thru that at some point..I am not immune to it either .its amazing that i saw this cos I was feeling low myself because of the confusion and on seeing your prayer I am already feeling better and I hope you do too I'll pray for you.
I am an indian born and raised in india but have been in America for quite a while.I believe being versatile and curious puts me into this confusion creating conflicting beliefs ..
keep believing in yourself and have a good heart it'll take you thru the tough times always..

Om..
