Biological parents of foster children
Parents whose children are in foster care due to poverty or perceived neglect

The biological parents of children in foster care need prayers and support in their quest to reclaim their children.

As director of a not-for-profit that serves parents who have children in foster care I know that the public often has a misconception about who the majority of foster chldren and their parents really are. Most foster chidren are in care because of what the system considers neglect which is often an issue that is related to poverty not deliberate neglect. One parent from the West Indies had her children placed in care because she spanked (not abused) them. Another parents children were removed because she didn't have a babysitter for children who was 11 and 7 at the time and left them for 2 hours in the mornings to go to work. Please pray that the public will understand that many of these parents are not bad parents but parents who are in need of support. Also pray that the public will stop labeling their children as the products of abuse when in many cases this is simply not true.
