family separation

I have been in the navy for ten years and I have seven months left before I end my navy career. A few months ago I asked if I can be temporary assigned to Houston Texas where my finacee was being transferred to. I was told it could happen for the last eight months I had left on my contract. I submitted a package requesting for the assignment. I would of never asked for this if I knew it couldnt been done but I have seen this done before to others at my command so that is why I asked. I helped my finacee and our two kids move to Texas and help them get settled in. I then returned to VA to my command. A few days of my return I was told I couldnt be assigned to Texas that I had to finish my career in VA away from my two children. I then submitted another request to the commanding officer and he disapproved it. why isnt GOD helping me? Please someone help me or teach me the right way on how to ask the LORD? I want to be with my kids and finacee in Texas - I can not handle the separation.
