Almighty God our Father
Preserve and protect our soldiers and their families. Give them the strength to survive and fulfil their mission. By Christ, Amen.

dear lord, send your angel to spread their wings over cyndi224's son and all the christian men and women who are in the mission, protect them against the fire of the enemy and other danger. show them your present, your protecting hand and speak to them your comforting love and peace in their heart, wherever they are. keep them save in your hand, that they will return to the family one day and to serve you and glorify your name. Bless their family with continuous strength to pray for them and faith to trust you. Thank you Lord Jesus for being with them. kk

Our troops and their families need Your continued strength and assistance for courage, safety and perserverence. Please comfort those who have already lost loved ones. Thank you for the successes our troops have had so far and continue to guide them in finding those who have kill others just because they do not believe as they believe.

Lord, please watch over and protect cyndi224's son while he does one of the most honorable jobs on this planet. cyndi i understand where you are coming from, my husband is a marine and he is in cold weather training right now and we wonder if when they are done if they may be sent cause they will be the troops with the freshest training for the conditions over there right now. our 4 yr old son misses his dad so much right now.if you would like someone to talk with who understands the military deal or you have any questions please email me at mommyk1@yahoo.com you, your son, and your family will be in my prayers. Hey Dad, it's Caren. Everyone is asking you to watch over her son, and I would like to ask again. While you are protecting him, keep an eye out for Marvin, will ya? Please help us out in what I feel is the worst thing to happen. In my lifetime anyway. I also have a son in the military, a pilot. I pray for him and for all his colleagues at this difficult time in our world. I pray for the faith to remember that he is trained and prepared and that God will be with him. My prayers are with anyone whose child is in harm's way. God bless.

I am mom to a marine being sent over there too, maybe as soon as next month. Am grandma to an Airman just sent to Japan. S0000--God knows how mothers worry and how mothers sometimes have to mourn. Will be praying for your son and your family as well. Jesus, please give them BIG guardian angels to surround and protect them all.

I especially pray for the young and not-so-young men and women who are placed in harm's way under the authority of national governments. I pray for Andrew, and for all the other soldiers in Afghanistan. I pray for peaceful settlement of this conflict, and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the US and on the Moslem countries, including Afghanistan, so that the Peace of God may prevail. I pray for world peace, and above all, pray for the men and women that may have to go and fight for our country. I pray that God will show them favortism and put a fire wall of protection around them all. I pray for God's comfort and peace to the families of these courageous people. My husband is over in the mediterin now on the Trumen. And I pray for a hedge of thorns around our men and wemen in the military. And I pray for the Lord to comfort those left behind.As we take care of our familys. That we remain strong and our spirits stay high. May aree familys be safe and back to gether soon. A DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS PRAYER/POEM

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.

Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree, I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn’t loud, and it wasn’t too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn’t quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Guardsman, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, my wife, and my child.

“What are you doing?” I asked without fear,
“Come in this moment; it’s freezing out here!
Put down your pack! brush the snow from your sleeve!
You should be at home on this cold Christmas Eve!”

For barely a moment, I saw his eyes shift
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts
To the window that danced with a warm fire’s light.
Then he signed and he said, “It’s really all right,
I’m out here by choice. I’m here every night.”

“It’s my duty to stand at the front of the line
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me.
I’m proud to stand here like my fathers before me.”

“My Gramps died at Pearl on a day in December.”
Then he sighed, “That’s a Christmas Gram always remembers.”
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ‘Nam’,
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.”

“I’ve not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures. He’s sure got her smile!”

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag
The red, white, and blue … an American flag.
“I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house, and my home.”

“I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet.
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother
Who stand at the front against any and all
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall!”

“So go back inside,” he said, “Harbor no fright.
Your family is waiting, and I’ll be all right.”
“But isn’t there something I can do, at the least?
Give you money?” I asked, “Or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you’ve done
And for being away from your wife and your son.”

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
“Just tell us you love us and never forget
To fight for our rights back at home while we’re gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.”

“For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust
That we matter to you, as you matter to us.”

I pray for this mother, I know her Pain too well. I too have my son in this war, he is in IRAQ now. I pray daily that God keep him & his buddies all safe for our familes. My son Jose Quinones is being deployed next mth. to Iraq, the last time I spoke to him, he was taking a couple of days off, to go visit his in-laws with his new wife, he called me to let me know when the ceremoney is going to take place on Nov. 1, 08. He asked me about my sister who lives in Fl. I gave him her email address, haven't heard from him since. I have called him numerous times on his cell, but all I get is his voicemail and I have left messages. Please pray that God keeps him safe and protected by him, and all the other military out there.
