Prayer Circles

Don't worry! Scout will soon overcome his anxiety and will become an integral part of your family. Scout probably was mistreated and doesn't know love yet. Wishing you and your family the strength and patience to help Scout grow into the dog he really is. He will soon love you back, unconditionally!

As an owner of a reformed trouble maker I can tell you that Scout will improve with some TLC and some time. When we adopted our lab, Hummer, he had some real problems. Running away, aggression toward other dogs, and not obeying. Obedience classes really helped to give him some discipline and to teach him to trust that when he did well he was rewarded. Most dogs really do want to please their owners. Hang in there--you're doing a good thing.

Dear God:

It says in your Word that we are to pray for all things, and that includes the animal kingdom because you made them to be a part of this earth. Not long ago, I saw horrible, horrible pictures of animals being tortured, and God, my heart sank within me to know there are people who would inflict this kind of punishment on innocent and loving animals. I thank you, Lord, that this family came to the rescue of this sweet dog, Scout, and I pray, Lord, that he will come to know the love of this family and the behavior problems will disappear. I pray for patience from this family and perseverence in love. Bless this family who has reached out to care. Amen.

I will pray for you and Scout. Just be patient. Very patient. I rescued Brandy 10 years ago and he too had behavior problems. He was extremely aggressive, got into everything and would try to bite me when I corrected him (never raising my hand). I realize now that I should've taken him to obedience school as I was the one who needed the training. Never was good at discipling. So while Brandy still steals food and will eat my garbage if I'm not careful, he's so darn cute that it doesn't matter. He's no longer aggressive, I can handle him in any way without him being afraid (check his teeth, etc.) and I've gotten so much love from him. He's the funniest dog I've ever known and I honestly believe he does "bad" things to entertain me (like standing on the kitchen table) How could you not bust out laughing at the sight of a shepherd/collie standing eye to eye with you. (he did jump down rather quickly when I walked into the room). He's a doll and I firmly believe that God brought us together because he knew I would have the patience and the love to see him through his worst times. It was the one of the best decisions I've ever made. Be patient and be loving. When Brandy misbehaved and then showed aggression toward me (expecting that he would get beaten), I would give him a kiss and tell him I loved him. After a while, he no longer had any reason to think he'd be beaten.

Señor, has que los dueños de Scout tengan serenidad para aceptar las cosas que no puedan cambiar, valor para cambiar las que puedan y sabiduria para conocer la diferencia.
Me he cambiado de casa varias veces y para indicarle a mi perro Baby donde debe orinar en el nuevo hogar hago lo siguiente: cuando orina dentro lo llevo al orín, lo hago que lo huela y le doy con un periodico un par de golpes suaves y le repito No No No, luego lo llevo al lugar donde debe orinar, le levanto la pata trasera hago el sonido del orin cayendo y le digo Si Si Si. Me ha funcionado las 6 veces que me he mudado. Siempre que orina en el lugar que le indique le repito lo lindo que es y le acaricio. Tengan fé.

Dog School- I have a great perynes and know the trials. I pray that you might have the mental ability to deal, and that you might not have any more troubles with your friend. JML
