The People and the Land of the United States of America
American Witches! Let us pray for peace!

This prayer circle is for children of the Old Religion and anyone who would wish to join us in praying that our nation and its citizens shall stay safe.

Rumor has it that during World War II, a circle of witches in England gathered on Lammas night. Together, as a circle, they are said to have worked a magic and a miracle so strong that it kept Adolf Hitler from invading the island.

Now in 2001, American witches find ourselves in a similar position. Our nation's troops go bravely to fight, but here at home we are left to hope that no further terrorist attacks scar our people.

But we can do more than hope--we can come together in a circle and pray for our land. Let us call upon those powers we hold so dear both within and without ourselves to protect and defend.

Whether you are a witch or not, whether you are American or not, you are invited to take part in this spiritual effort for peaceful times in these United States.
