A faithful servant.

Melanie, my 27-year-old daughter, is a Saint. She has given up her life, working full time and taking care of my mother, who is handicapped from multiple medical problems.

Melanie was born in 1973 when I was 17. We lived with my parents and when I got married at 25, she stayed with them. Now my mother is 78, very ill, my dad passed away in February 2001, leaving Melanie to care for my mother. She works hard at her job and then comes home to my mother, who can sometimes be so demanding and ungrateful, but Melanie stays. Please pray that God gives her the strength to keep going and the Love and Understanding to accept my mother's sometimes cruel remarks and behavior. Thank you.

God, I thank you for Melanie W's abiding and unconditional love, which is a mirror of your love for us. Thank you for the strength you give her to do your work, being your hands and heart. I ask for your grace to pour over her as she continues to do your work, and open her eyes only to the love that comes from her grandmother, because anything else is not really real when it comes to grandmothers - they are something special to us. If there is any cruelty, that is only a place where love needs to go - help us to place your love there God. Amen.
