I have had an affair for the last seven years that I can not seem to end no matter how many times I have tried. I have spent countless nights praying for forgivness and asking for the strength to walk away. Do I not have enough faith?

I know that what I am doing is a sin but I just keep getting myself involved with this man over and over. He seems to have more faith than I do and we both know the ramifications of what we are doing. I love my husband and children very much but why do I continue to have this affair? I have ended this thing over and over only to start back again. I do not want to spend the end of days in hell. I need salvation and do not know where to start. I have been told that if we ask God's forgivness and are sincere that he will forgive us. How do we forgive ourself? Will I ever be able to look my husband in the eye without thinking about what I have done to him? We have ended the affair again this morning and I need your prayers to give me the strenght to walk away this time. Thank you for your prayers.

God I pray for your unconditional love to enter Mary R's spirit and help her to see her true value. I pray for her release from the "hell" she is in now, by helping her to love herself enough to no longer need whatever she is trying to fill up inside from this affair. God, you are the love we crave, your love shows us our value, and that the real love that we crave is self acceptance and self respect. When we see ourselves through your eyes, God, we no longer need to fill up our insides with external things any longer. I pray you will help her forgive herself for not knowing what she is doing, and to help her understand why she is doing it now, so that she may let go of this behavior and move forward toward a healthier and happier existence. I trust you now God to working your healing power in Mary's life, and I thank you for her courageous spirit in working toward releasing behavior which is hurting herself and others. Amen.
