Eric is a very mild mannered, kind, and friendly young man. He is a very tall good looking guy. He never has a harsh word and he is very considerate of those around him.

Eric was in an accident on 9/30/01. Eric's neck was broken, 5th and 6th vertibrae. When Eric got to the hospital, he couldn't feel his legs or move his arms. Eric is now paralyzed from the chest down. It took 8 weeks before the surgery could take place. Eric's parents have been missionaries to Haiti and Dominican Republic, Eric was exposed to Malaria. During the 8 weeks in Intensive Care his Malaria flared and his fever spiked up. Eric's lungs collapsed repeatedly. Now Eric's girlfriend has broken up with him because she is to young to deal with his disability. I worked with and rode to work with Eric before his accident. I am the mother of the girlfriend that broke up with him. I love this boy like he was my own son. I feel such a heavy sadness for all he has had to go through. My heart breaks repeatedly for him. God please heal his body, mind, and soul.

I just want to say that no matter what you are experiencing in your life right now, you are still alive and better off than others who are strickened with this ailment or that ailment. So many times in order to appreciate the little things that we do have, we have to put things into perspective. Like having a place to live, having friends and family that love and care for us, and so many of the other little blessings that we don't even think about twice. So may you be able to see the many blessings that God has graced your life with and may he bless you with many more. Amen.
