My Wife and Best Friend

My wife is severing from re-occuring bouts of depression. She feels she has ruined our lives because of this.

For the past 6 years my wife has suffered from depression and the result of a stroke. The only lasting effect of the stroke is the depression. She can not stop worrying about not be able to control this depression. She worries about what she is doing to her family. We have a 7 year old daughter who loves her mother very much. Through this ordeal my wife has done a wonderful job with our daughter. My wife feels our daughter is short changed because of my wifes illness. My wife wants more children for myself and my daughter, but worries that something would happen to her or she wold not be able to care for a new baby. When my wife is not depressed she does many wonderful things for a lot of people. However when she is depressed she can't remember any of that a feels she is useless. Her low self-esteem is bring her down everyday. We love her and need her to realize our world is better with her, no matter what state of mind she is in.

Depression is difficult, I know from experience. Know that there are many other wonderful qualities you have which is seen by the wonderful message you husband wrote. Satan plants doubt and dispear in his attempt to kill your spirit. God, I pray that you come into Paula's heart and life up her morale so she can live for today and forget about her past depression. I pray that you guide her to find activities that will keep her mind occupied and to you. And least I forget, I pray that you protect any children and adults in the home against the snares of evil.
