Prominent Wiccan author, battling Leukemia

Ellen Cannon Reed, author of many books on Wicca religion and spirituality, has been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Ellen, ill for the last two months and hospitalized twice, has finally been diagnosed with AML Leukemia. She is undergoing a course of chemotherapy, with the hope of 'rebooting' her bone marrow.

Ellen is known to the Wiccan communities for her books "The Witches' Qabalah", "The Witches' Tarot" and "PaganSong." Her most recent, "Heart of Wicca", was inspired by the many conversations she had on her Undernet IRC channel, #witchcraft, where she is much loved as a dear friend and enjoyed as an often-sharp, often-humourous voice of wisdom.

This voice is not yet silent - her new book, "Circle of Isis", an expanded revision of the Llewellyn title "Invocation of the Gods", is due out in Autumn/2K1. In the works are "Preserving the Path", a sequal to "Heart of Wicca", and "Sacred Partners", a book on Wicca for two people. This powerful voice has much left to say. She is on a strict diet and is limited in what she can do. She is very tired, has little energy, but her spirits are upbeat and she is determined to fight on. She has seen our prayer circle and our website at Wishes4Ellen.8m.com and thanks everyone. Please continue to pray for Ellen and for her husband, who has stood by her side. The emotional strain he is under is considerable; please keep him in your prayers as well, he is gaining as much support from our love as Ellen is.

She sends her love and appreciation to all of us and believes 100% that her remission was in large part because of the energy and love she has received from her friends and supporters.
