All Addicts
A PRAYER FOR ALL THOSE WHO NEED HELP WITH DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION

This prayer circle is for all people who are presently struggling with alcohol or drug addiction.

Please send your prayers and positive energy to all those who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction. I myself have just gotten out of rehab and am now sober after 12 years of drug abuse (I am only 26). I know first hand how hard it is and how drugs can take hold of your entire life. People who struggle with this need everyone's good thoughts, prayers, energy and wishes sent their way. I am asking that everyone, regardless of how they believe to please keep addicts in their thoughts and hearts and pray for their healing. Addicts are not the stereotypes you see on television, they are everyday people. Many turn to drugs because they feel they have nowhere else to turn to. Please pray that these people will find the right path to good mental and physical health. Most importantly, please pray that they will find their own spiritual path and anchor, so they will not have to turn to drugs or alcohol. Pray for their healing, and for the healing of those around them that are also involved.

Oh Heavenly and Gracious Lord, please hear our unworthy prayers....As addicts, we have not only allowed Satan to enter in, we are oh , so powerless once we give in to it's temptation..You have saved my live numerous times, too many to count, and I am grateful...Please save us from ourselves Lord that we may find our way out of this miserable lifestyle ..Bless those that have prayed for me and helped me along the way..In Jesus name, Amen

I'M ASKING ALL OF MY SISTERS AND BROTHERS IN CHRIST, WHO ARE VERY STRONG PRAYER WARRIORS. TO PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF MY HUSBAND. AND THAT HE BE DELIVERED FROM DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. WE'VE BEEN MARRIED FOR 2 YEARS AND HIS HABIT IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. IF I DON'T GIVE HIM MONEY HE CLAIMS ITS ALL MY FAULT THAT HE'S ON DRUGS ANYWAY. I'VE BEEN DELIVERED AND SET FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. BECAUSE IN THE WORD HE SAYS IF YOU'RE FREE YOU'RE FREE INDEED. MY PASTOR SAID THAT I'M NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO PRAY FOR HIM BY MYSELF, BECAUSE HE HAS A WANDERING SPIRIT. PLEASE PRAY THAT ALL GOES WELL, AND REMEMBER GOD IS STILL INCHARGE, STAY ENCOURAGED.

This is a 2-part message:

FOR JillMichelle: Welcome!! The move you have made is definitely the right direction and with His Grace, you will continue to grow and learn to appreciate life-which is for living. Chemical abuse is death on the installment plan and you have been given another lease on life. You don't have to be like me, and it took me a great number of years in and out of treatment facilities, resentment, emotional pain, low self-esteem, unmanageability, spiritual bankruptcy-not to mention financial decay to the point of homelessness. Your life is still in front of you, and you have a chance to make the most of it, 1 day at a time with the graces only the Almighty Father can grant. Sometimes things are not always easy, but if you don't pick up, they won't get further complicated! Do attend, build your network, live and let live. Things will slowly fall into place.

FOR TLEWIS: The disease of chemical addiction is cunning, baffling and powerful! Unfortunately you being the cause of anyone abusing chemicals is an immature thought pattern centered on manipulaiton to make you feel guilty; Been there/done that. The story is not unique among people like me who do what I did for about 26 years. Sort of a secondary career trying to keep the money flowing to keep the buzz going. As long as you are willing to co-sign insanity, it will continue. In addition to prayer, perhaps attendance at a few 12-step programs might help you into the right direction. It will only work if it is what both parties desire....

Heavenly Father, only You know Your Will for us, and it is only through a sober mind that we can allow You into our hearts to get to know You and understand Your Will and the ability to carry it out...for those that are sick and still suffering, those that are being abused by an abuser, for those new into recovery, by the merits of this prayer, the Passion of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Paschal Lamb, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on them. Deliver them to Your peace and serenity to walk with You, not in opposition to you. Grant to them the knowledge to understand that the body You gave them is Your temple, and should be treated accordingly. Manifest in them the Holy Spirit to a level which reflects Your abundant love for all Your children, in spite of. Through the heart of Jesus please hear and bless this prayer.
-Amen

HI!
this is my first "post" to this website, and the first "interaction" on this site as well. I'm glad I found it. I can only say that I think the Holy spirit must have led me to this site, because I can't really remember how I even got here. The lord certainly works in mysterious ways.

Laurel crowed: I especially appreciate some of the things you've been writing about, and am sorry to hear of your father's passing on. I would be interested in sharing more to me about him. If, of course, you feel comfortable doing so.

Yes, i to, am suffering from addiction to pain killers, and am(I believe) finally starting "recovery"-the process thereof. I am currently in a "live" 12 step group at a church, and i'm certainly glad that I began attending. My only regret is that I didn't start earlier. This internet forum, is certainly a nice addendum to my 12 step process.

I am looking forward to "interacting" with all of you, and am asking that I be kept in your prayers and thoughts for over-coming my chemical dependency issues, and my "dependency-issues" all together for that matter. Hence, SOS(i'm in distress), but am hopeful I'll recover.

I know that with God's help, I will recover from this "disease". The only "catch" is, and i'm sure many of you have already experienced this, that its' going to take a complete life change, and this includes life "style" change as well. This, of course, wont' be easy. But I know if I commit myself to giving my life to christ(not just part of me), that I will overcome this. But the "kicker"(as I mentioned), is that I have to "re-commit" my "entire" life to christ, or i'll just fall on my feet. I also have to be patient. I want all of this to happen over-night, and I know it wont. Please pray that i will be "patient" in this process.

I've tried a couple other internet support groups without alot of success. Granted, many of them always seem to have a "spiritual component" to them, it never "appears" to be a guiding force for many of the members-god is there, he's just in the back seat.

Hence, i'm happy to be here, because God seems to be in everyone's front seat driving into recovery.

Jill, I am praying for you. I also have just left a treatment program. I am now attending 12 step meetings and church(they are totally supportive). I have found that the more people in my life that are working a receovery program or that support me working a program, the higher the chances of me staying sober. I have also realized how important it is for me to help others. I will keep you in my prayers and ask that you and the rest of this circle will pray for me as well.
In HIS love, Kelly

Peacekel,
If you would join me in becoming a sort of "recovery partner(even on the internet)" I think that would be great. This is something that 12 step groups support-that is finding a partner. Youv'e heard the verse, where two or more of you are gathered, there I am in the midst of you. I tried to kick this thing on my own, and I can tell you its too hard that way. But, we must also pray that we not "over depend" upon eachother as well(and on the "group), because that can create problems as well. Just pray that Christ would be in both of us, at all times whomever and wherever we are. Thankyou for praying for me, and I thank you in advance for praying for me in the future. After I finish writing this post, I will pray for you. The next time you post(and I hope you do), please at least give me your first name(or whatever name you'd like me to use in prayer). My name is Scott. Have a wonderful day, and keep on keeping on. It will work! The Lord is telling me right now to to say to you not to give up and to have patienrce, EVEN if we stumble. Napolean once said(and I know he's not a biblical character)"Battles are won, by teaching soldiers how to die". Amen.

Lord, I pray for all those who have written prayers here. So much pain that only you can heal. I pray Lord for all addicts and recovering addicts. I pray Lord that you bring them peace and comfort and love Lord, especially when they feel so lonely and empty. I pray Lord that you guide them to a better, happier, existence and that you show them a new way. A way without drugs and alcohol and pills that fills their lives with your plan and your love and your peace. I pray also Lord that no one gets discouraged and that we all keep going, one day at a time which is only possible through your love. In His name, Amen.

O blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you: Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy; remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen.

Dear God, let your loving arms surround all the poor souls struggling with addictions and also their loved ones. Give them your strength when theirs is failing, send your Holy Spirit to counsel and guide them and those who are trying to help or to live in sometimes desperate situations. We ask in the name of your Blessed Son, Amen.

I too am struggling with addictions. I am only 25 and it is hard to take that first step to attend a 12 step program. So I try to give it up all alone.
I pray for strength of all of us that are struggling with addictions:
God grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change COURAGE to change the things I can and the WISDOM to know the difference.
And to all of you with clean time be it 1 day or 100 days keep working those steps. And I love you all BE BLESSED

Lord please forgive me for my sins in day to day life particularly those brought on by my drug addiction. Thank you for continuing to stay with me and my family throughout all of it. Please lord give me strength and wisdom in my coming days of need in these areas. Please lord allow the people who I hurt in this process to forgive me, and now lead me down the path to recovery that I need to find in order to survive. AMEN.

Please pray for my boyfriend who has admitted that he is an alcoholic and knows that the many problems in his life are due to his addiction. I have recently asked him to move out because he will not seek help. I have helped him raise his daughter for 2 1/2 years and she thinks I'm one of her parents and she has been hurt by the split. I love this man and his daughter with all my heart and want to seek help for our "family". I pray to God daily for his intervention and to reunite our family, our little girl who is truly a part of my heart and has shown me that miracles do live here on earth, and that my boyfriend open his heart, mind and soul to God. I have given my love for this man, his daughter and our relationship over to God and know that he feels all of our pain and that he blesses us with his love. Thank you for your prayers and bless all of the millions of people who suffer from addictions. Thank you God for creating AA and Al Anon. God, thank for your love and compassion. Please know that I love you.

The first step is to admit there is a problem, and that no matter what you do you cannot control your actions. The first step is the easiest to complete but the hardest to get started. I am a recovering addict. I have found no reason to use since November 18, 2001, and for that I am truly grateful.
Blessed Be To All Things!
