Hazara people of Afghanistan
Persecution at the hands of the Taliban

The Hazara people of Afghanistan are being persecuted mercilessly by the Taliban for being shias and of mongoloid origin. Please pray for the Hazaras to be able to withstand the brutalities.

The Hazaras are a simple hearted and peace loving people living in the central mountains of Afghanistan. They are being killed, looted and insulted with impunity only because they are from the shia sect of Islam, the Taliban themselves being from the Pashtoon ethnic group belonging to the sunni sect of Islam. More than 50000 Hazaras have been killed by the Taliban since they captured Kabul, the capital city, in 1996. Hazaras are one of the most persecuted peoples on earth today. The Taliban are denying Hazaras food, medicines, education and employment. The Hazara land, Hazarajat, is facing the most serious draught in 50 years. Please pray for the Hazaras to withstand the Taliban onslaught and be able to survive.
