June 13, 2001 -- Fiery Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and nationally prominent Rabbi Marc Schneier reportedly held a top-secret meeting in Manhattan this week. The hush-hush session Monday night was a first step toward repairing Farrakhan's relationship with American Jews, the Newsweek Web site says. Neither Farrakhan nor Schneier could be reached for comment last night, and the specifics and results of their hours-long session remain unknown. Schneier is the founding rabbi of the Hampton Synagogue on Long Island. The session was arranged by hip-hop czar Russell Simmons.
