Danielle Conyer
Baptism, Confirmation, First Eucharist

Celebrating the Easter Vigil ceremony.

I celebrated my Baptism, Confirmation and first Eucharist on Easter Vigil. I started RCIA in September of 2000, with the support of my fiance, my mother, and my best friend. It was difficult at first because me becoming Catholic was looked down upon by my family (I am African-American, and raised in a Southern Baptist church) but each day I prayed that God would give me the strength to follow my heart. I met some wonderful people over the past 7 months, and I have become great friends with two members of RCIA. My friend whom I met through RCIA was also Baptized, Confirmed, and received her first Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. It was a beautiful service, and a wonderful faith journey for me. I pray that God will continue to bless me, and my fiance, and my daughter. We will be celebrating our Marriage vows next March. May everyone be blessed and at peace.

Hi Danielle,

I also came into the Church this Easter.

With a Methodist, Nazarene, Protestant, and Presbyterian background I had to overcome and let loose of some deeply held beliefs.

But with friends and those in RCIA I found the Truth I had been seeking. Bless you new friend, and congratulations on your coming marriage.

Claudia

Danielle, I am so excited for you! I am in RCIA and will be receiving First Eucharist on Easter of 2001. My daughter is 8 and she will be in the children's First Communion group this year as well. My son was last year. This means that we will all be able to receive together as a family for the first time this May. Your story is an inspiration to us. Thanks!
