An army private and autistic converts to islam

As a private in the us army I went to the service for muslims. originally out of curiosity. I was raised southern baptist, and always had a problem with their surmons. It seemed like they were only concerned with revelations and the end of days. If I questioned a surmon or inquired about other books in the bible I was told to they didn't matter. this did not compute with me. I eventualy renounced my faith, when at 13 I was diagnosed with aspebergers syndrom a mild form of autism. I would go to the alter every sunday asking for a reason I had been afflicted with this illness, no answer ever came. the pastor told me That it was punishment for sins I'd committed. eveventualy I stoped asking and just left.

the next 8 years were spent searching for a faith that seemed more realistic to me. I considdeded buddism, hindu, catholic, even wicca. the search always ended with disapointment. When I was twenty I enlisted in the army as a infantry man in basic I took the shahadda. And im proud of it
