Chris Hermenitt
Seventh-Day Adventist Baptism

The baptism and entering into the family of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

I was raised Christian Reformed and became a full member and received baptism by sprinkling in 1991. I was very active in the church for a couple of years before becoming disillusioned and leaving the church. I then studied several different religions and philosophies. These included the Metaphysics of Quality (Robert Persig), Objectivism (Ayn Rand), Islam, Taoism, Jainism, and Zen Buddhism. I was a Zen Buddhist for several years. Then I became an atheist and renounced all existance of God or any other spiritual reality. I was an atheist for about five years. Last year I became more involved in the SDA church through my wife, who was raised Adventist but had renounced her membership. We were both baptized into the body of Christ at this baptism. We were also accepted into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. I am very thankful for Jesus as my savior.
