Shahada/Reversion to Islam


Daughter of Muslim-Moroccan Father and Christian-American Mother reverts to Islam at 13 years old.


A little while ago I decided to look into several different religions so that I could choose one. I had narrowed it down to hinduism, islam, and episcopalian (just cuz it was my moms).For a while I thought I would be muslim and then without any support (my parents are divorced so I went to live with my mom because I was only 2) I strayed. I had read alot of books in which the character was an indian hindu and I guess it attracted me. I went to a temple, bought a punjabi dress and even had a portable idol for altar worship. I also had a person who my mom worked with who was hindu help me out..she took me to temples and tought hindu ways to me.I realized how stupid I had been and what I had done. I recently rediscovered islam (because my dad, grandma, and stepmom are quite devout)and decided I was gonna stay here . I am looking into an islamic school for the eighth grade and if I am still here for the ninth i might go to morocco with my family. Today I took shahada.

It is incredible how a young girl in your age finds her way to the Truth. Congratulations on your reversion, I am sure you will be blessed for the rest of your life. May Allah make your journey towards him a pleasant and happy one. They say, when go one step towards Allah, Allah comes running toward you!
If you can, go to Morocco, you will love it! All the best to you my young sister.
