Carol Abbott
Baptism into the Roman Catholic Church

On Easter Vigil I was baptised and accepted as a member of the Church.

My sponsor: My sister-in-law, Bernadine Hoduski.

I had taken the course of instructions that was (at that time) required in the fall and winter of 1966-67.

The presiding priest was Fr. John Stack, assisted by Fr. Michael Rice.

When I came into the church, it was customery for women to wear some kind of covering for their hair. So I wore a lace "doily" perched on top of my boufant hair.

Do you know, I loved the lovely lace mantillas and had a black one and a white one. Ladies ALWAYS wore dresses or skirts to church in those days --- never slacks, and certainly NOT jeans.
