Marjorie Crider Hornbuckle

Eighty, Lady! And what a lifetime to look back on since her humble beginnings in Hodgenville, Kentucky.

in 1943, then the Kids -- Bobby ('45), Randy ('49), Maribeth ('55), Susan ('59) -- and a good life of hard work and childrearing, including last-minute costume creation, midnight fever vigils, numerous emergency room trips, 24/7 transport service, homemade meals while-u-and-several-friends-waited, financial rescues, unforgettable Christmases ... the list goes on.

Grandkids began to appear in 1971 -- Jamie, Ashley ... what, no more? Thirteen years later the floodgates open and out come Whitney, Dustin, Chad, Morgan, Caitlin, William, Wynne and Amber.

Whew! Home and hearth remain at 131 Wood Manor Lane, going on 39 years. Mom still can throw a great party, so we think it's high time for her to be the honoree!

August 13 is the date.

Eighty is the number.
