15 years ago, when I got sober the challenge was to make it one day at a time. Now I can look into the future with wide eyes and optimism that I can meet any challenge sober. Life throws some curves, I too have been married and divorced, married again, had children, had to except chronic illness, MS, Fibromyolgia, Rheumetoid Arthritis. And that whole thing about never being able to drink again. But I believe that whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I'm glad to wake up each day, get my old body moving to face whatever gets put in my path. And not to use alcohol or drugs to make it seem easier. Hell, even when I drank to not face things, the problems were still there when I sobered up. Probably for the worse anyway. So now I enjoy my life and I enjoy it sober. Also, never lose sight of the humor in almost every situation. Laughter IS the best medicine in the world.
