  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 2 egg whites

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 pound pecan halves


Heat the butter in a baking pan until melted. Beat the egg whites in a mixer bowl until frothy.  Add the sugar, beating until blended.  Add the pecans, stirring until coated.  Spread in the prepared pan. Bake at 275 to 300 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes.  Spread on parchment paper to cool.
