  • 1-1/2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1-1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • 2 or more dashes Tabasco
  • 2-1/2 cups mashed ripe avocado
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise

Soften gelatin in cold water; dissolve in boiling water.  Add lemon juice, salt, onion and Tabasco.  Let cool to room temperature.  Stir in avocado, sour cream and mayonnaise.  Pour into a 6-cup ring mold.  Chill until firm (5 to 6 hours or overnight).
