Anticipate (Think Negatively)
Our plans and the way things turn our rarely resemble each other. Yet we constantly deny this fact and are shocked by the events of the world as they unfold. We must practice what the ancient Stoics called premeditatio malorum (premeditation of evils). By reviewing or rehearsing our plans we can anticipate what could go wrong, and when something inevitably does, be prepared for it and adjust while others are shocked and left behind.
