Machu Picchu, Peru
Towering magically over Urubamba Valley in Peru is Machu Picchu, a 15th century Inca site that was originally built for the Inca emperor Pachacuti. At the time of the Spanish Conquest, Machu Picchu was abandoned until its rediscovery hundreds of years later. Since then, the site has gone through several reconstructions to better imitate its original structure.
