Michael Wood, BS, CSCS

Michael Wood is the founder and director of the Sports Performance Group in Boston, Massachusetts and an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Connecticut, where he is pursuing a Master's degree. From 1994-99 he worked at the prestigious Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Sarcopenia Laboratory at the U.S.D.A. Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and a degree in physical therapy (PTA) from North Shore Community College. His professional certifications include: National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS), American College of Sports Medicine, National Academy of Sports Medicine and American Council on Exercise.

Michael was voted best personal trainer in Boston for the year 2000 by Boston Magazine and was recently profiled on the Fitnesslink.com website as one of the top trainers in the nation.

On an annual basis, experts must provide HealthGate with an updated copy of their professional credentials or licensure.
