Madonna, Britney, and Demi recently popularized Kabbalah (the Hebrew word for "tradition") first for Hollywood and then for America. But the body of esoteric, mystical Jewish teachings has been around for centuries.
I'm Jay Michaelson, author of "God in your Body: Kabbalah, Mindfulness, and Embodied Spiritual Practice." We're going to work through a short movement routine that allows the experience of some Kabbalistic concepts such as the Sefirot, the divine energies which are reflected in the human form. The movements that we'll be doing don't originate within the Kabbalah, but they do provide an opportunity to feel and experience some of the concepts of the Kabbalah in our own bodies.
