Our journey to Bhutan will be led by Elizabeth Napper, a Buddhist scholar and author of "Dependent-Arising and Emptiness" and the editor of "Mind in Tibetan Buddhism." She is the co-editor of "Kindness, Clarity and Insight" by the present Dalai Lama of Tibet.
Since 1991, Elizabeth has been Co-Director of the Tibetan Nuns Project, a charitable organization based within the Tibetan refugee community in India, aimed at raising the educational level and status of Buddhist nuns in the Tibetan tradition. She spends most of her time in Dharamsala, India, living and working with the Tibetan refugee community here. Her years of service to the cause of educating and training nuns were recognized in 2001 with the Unsung Heroes of Compassion Award presented by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
