Registration

Is there a fee for Beliefnet membership?
No. Beliefnet member services (including email, weekly newsletter, discussion board & dialogue group access, memorials etc.) are absolutely free.

Please Note: Beliefnet Web Services and Beliefnet Store products are not included in the standard member services. You can try Web Start FREE for 3 months. After your FREE trial period, you will be billed a nominal fee of $4.95/month. If you prefer an Ad Free site, we would bill you $14.95/month.Beliefnet Store products are priced individually.

How do I register onto Beliefnet?
To register for Beliefnet member services, just fill-out the New Users form on the register page of Beliefnet. To ensure the best security and privacy possible, during registration you will be asked to choose a Beliefnet username and password .

Please Note: Select a username with 3-64 characters. Only letters, numbers, dashes, periods, or underscores with, no blank spaces. Cannot begin with a number, and cannot begin or end with dashes, periods, or underscores. Cannot have any combination of two dashes, periods, or underscores in a row.
Select a password with 5-8 characters. Must contain at least one letter and at least one number.


Why is registration information important?
Basic information obtained during Beliefnet registration is used to create a collective summary of Beliefnet users as a whole. This collective data helps us to determine the extent to which our members use certain aspects of Beliefnet and to improve the website for members' use.

To ensure the best security and privacy possible for members, Beliefnet does not disclose individual member information to outside companies or other members. Beliefnet optional services (Beliefnet Store, Member Profile, Web Services, etc.) may require additional information for participation. Information obtained from members during use of these optional services is also protected under our privacy policy.


Will I receive junk email from registering onto Beliefnet?
As a complimentary service to our members, Beliefnet sends out a weekly email newsletter that highlights new Beliefnet articles and features. Occasionally, our database selects Beliefnet members to participate in a website survey. The survey data helps us to determine the extent to which our members use certain aspects of Beliefnet and to improve the website for members' use.

Beliefnet privacy policy allows each member during registration the option of not receiving email updates and member surveys. On the Beliefnet registration form, you can choose not to participate in the Beliefnet email newsletter and member surveys. To ensure the best security and privacy possible for members, Beliefnet does not disclose individual member information to outside companies or other members.


How do I view my Beliefnet membership information from a different computer?
To view your Beliefnet membership information from a different location or a different computer log into Beliefnet with your Beliefnet username and password. This will allow you access to your Beliefnet membership information without having to re-register on the site. If you still have questions about registration on Beliefnet, send them to feedback

What if I've forgotten my password?
If you are unable to sign-in because you are having trouble with your password or have forgotten it, you can get a new one right away. Fill out the forgot your password form, and you can re-set your password.

On this form, you'll need to enter your exact Beliefnet username, your zip code and the City of Birth information you provided when you first registered for your Beliefnet username. After this information is confirmed, you will be allowed to change your password:

You will need to have your exact Beliefnet username in order to sign-in to Beliefnet.

Tricks for Remembering Username or password:
  • Beliefnet username has 3-64 characters. Only letters, numbers, dashes, periods, or underscores with, no blank spaces. Does not begin with a number, and cannot begin or end with dashes, periods, or underscores. Does not have any combination of two dashes, periods, or underscore.
  • Beliefnet password has 5-8 characters. Must contain at least one letter and at least one number
  • Beliefnet Email Users, your Beliefnet username is the first part of your email address. For example, if your Beliefnet Email Address is person@beliefnet.com, your Beliefnet Username is person. Please do not add the @beliefnet.com when you sign-in.

    If you have forgotten your Beliefnet username, we'll be happy to remind you. Please send an email to Beliefnet Feedback with the ZIP Code, City of Birth, and the exact email address you gave when you registered for your Beliefnet username. We will send a confirmation of your Beliefnet username by email. If you have forgotten your password, fill out the forgot your password form to re-set your password.

    Why isn't my username and password working?
    There are several reasons you may be getting the "Not a Valid Username or Password" error message. The most common reasons are as follows:
  • You may be typing in an incorrect username or password.

    Please send an email to Beliefnet feedback with the ZIP Code, City of Birth, and the exact email address you gave when you registered for your Beliefnet username. We will send a confirmation of your Beliefnet username by email. If you have forgotten your password, fill out the forgot your password form to re-set your password.
  • Please do not add the @beliefnet.com when signing in.
  • The cookie function on your web browser may be disabled. A cookie is a small piece of information stored by your browser that helps identify who you are. If your cookie has been disabled on your browser, then you will be logged out of your Beliefnet account as soon as you move to a different page. This may be blocking your current ability to log in or stay logged in. To correct this, you will have to enable cookies on your browser.

    What does "Remember My ID & Password" mean?
    When you sign in using your Beliefnet username and password, your browser can "remember" this information. If you check the "Remember" box you won't have to sign in each time you come back. (Although we may ask you to re-enter your password if you've been a way from the computer for a while)

    Important: Always remember your Beliefnet username and password or write them down in a safe place. For your protection, we may ask you to re-enter your Beliefnet username and password when you use a Beliefnet optional service (Beliefnet Store, Web Services, Email etc.)


    Should I check the box or not?
    If you use a shared computer (in a library, Internet cafe, university, airport or other common area) DO NOT check the "Remember my ID & Password" checkbox. If you are concerned that other people will use your computer and have access to your Beliefnet username, do not check the "Remember my ID & Password" box. Be sure to close your browser or click "Sign Out" when you leave your computer. This will ensure that the Beliefnet home page asks for a Beliefnet username and password the next time you access Beliefnet.

    What if I change my mind?
    You can sign out of Beliefnet at any time by clicking the "Sign Out" link at the top of the Beliefnet home page. Once you've signed out, you can sign in again and choose whether your browser "remembers" or not.
